What Does Combust Mean In Astrology

In astrology, what is the difference between direct and combust?

Let’s start with a basic understanding of combustion as a notion. When a planet approaches the Sun very closely, it loses its brightness (luster). The state in question is known as combustion.

The planets lack the power to protect and promote the significations/houses they rule while in the state of combustion. The significations regulated by such a planet do not even take birth if it is weak on other levels as well. When the planets are inside the degrees listed below on either side of the Sun, they are said to be combust.

When the planets exhibit the following longitudinal differences with the Sun on either side, they are deemed combust:

In astrology, what is the difference between retrograde and combust?

Every planet gains strength with age, and as a result, combust planets may manifest in the second part of existence. Retrograde Planet – The planet nearest to Earth at the time of a person’s birth is called a retrograde planet.

What happens if Venus catches fire?

Venus is conjunct the Sun on March 25, 2021, within orb of the Libra Full Moon on March 28, a condition known as “combustion,” which occurs twice in every Venus cycle, once when she is retrograde and once when she is direct, as she is now.

In this piece from the summer of 2020, a retrograde Venus collided with the Sun.

As retrograde Venus sank below the horizon last week, Ereshkigal, the Queen of the Underworld, exploded in the shape of a 17-year-old girl who filmed the knee-on-the-neck murder of George Floyd in a 9-minute video that enraged the nation for seven days.

The public outrage is intense and genuine, stemming from centuries of terrible inequity, injustice, and suffering.

If you’re participating in my Venus retrograde challenge, Ereshkigal may have exploded within you over this and/or more personal issues as well.

The Sun/Venus conjunction marks the halfway point of Ishtar’s trip. This is also called as “combustion” in astrology circles, and it is considered a weaker state for Venus. When she’s between 8-10 degrees of the Sun, it happens (this is happening now, from May 28 to June 9).

“Combust” signifies that the planet Venus is literally obliterated by the Sun’s brightness. This was seen by tribal groups all around the world as a portent that the goddess Venus was on her way to the underworld. What she does down there varies depending on whose tale you believe, but everyone agrees that the climax occurs when Venus conjuncts the Sun.

Combust Venus undergoes a transformation as a result of this conjunction.

She switches from Evening Star to Morning Star or vice versa. Every 18 months, the Sun and Venus align in a conjunction. They can also be found in your horoscope or through personal transits and progressions. So, what do they imply?

This is when astrology becomes perplexing.

You’ll get two quite different perspectives if you Google about.

  • The classic view is that the Sun’s immense force agitates, burns, and depletes Venus during combustion. She’s turned into a ghost or has gone blind. Her beauty goes unnoticed and unappreciated. Her love life is tumultuous, and divorce is a distinct possibility. She may be forced to choose between love and money, security, or power.
  • Modern astrologers, on the other hand, are much more upbeat. They define this conjunction as a divine blessing that makes you gorgeous, charming, kind, creative, harmonious, popular, and prosperous. You’ll enter an oasis of enjoyment during Sun/Venus progressions and transits. Gifts will be thrown your way.

What a contrast! Which is the correct answer? First and foremost, let’s be clear. Both are extremes, and none is accurate in a literal sense. No astrologer, living or dead, has ever studied the globe and made forecasts based on years of empirical evidence. Astrology has long been a symbolic and imaginative art form. It also helps to have one who is well-informed. Because there are two quite different Sun/Venus conjunctions, it pays to know a little astronomy and mythology in this circumstance.

Two Venus Stars:Days of happiness or rage?

Venus is altering while she is combust within 10 degrees of the Sun. She’s dissolved and reformed as either Evening Star or Morning Star in the underworld. How do you know which conjunction is which while looking at an astrology chart? It’s simple!

Venus is becoming a Morning Star if she is retrograde.

She’ll be an Evening Star if she’s direct.

Each follows a different routine.

Given the Morning Star’s proximity to daybreak, it’s no surprise that it’s associated with light, fire, energy, power, the pursuit, and conflict.

How Venus, the planet, must have encouraged Paleolithic hunters to leave their sites in the predawn darkness for millennia.

This bright star rising later, during the reign of Mesopotamian rulers, sent troops marching, heated up for conquest under the emboldening anger of Innana/Ishtar.

Venus is a vegetation goddess who is particularly prominent in agrarian traditions as the Evening Star. She’s both feminine and fruitful. Weary farmers left their fields under Her supervision, looking forward to an evening of rest, nutrition, and entertainment. Evening Star Venus is still associated with the pleasures of dining and socializing. From their bedroom windows, lovers may see this dazzling planet.

Morning Star Venus: The Warrior

Every Venus retro conjunction isn’t as bizarre as the one in 2020. That is an important factor to remember. The kindling gathered in the preceding months (in the 18-month cycle that is about to expire) will determine the size of the fire that explodes each time. This Sun/Venus conjunction is revelatory in that it reveals what has been overlooked, suppressed, or brushed under the rug for far too long. It follows an archetypal pattern, although the specifics will differ (which is why literal predictions typically fail). We, like the gods, are creative.

Battle-ready Ishtar is a clear predecessor of the fiery Kali, who was venerated in India centuries later. The Divine Feminine’s rage is both frightening and cleansing. The Goddess’s fury has always had a purpose. It’s meant to put things right, to restore a crucial equilibrium in the natural world. There’s old business to clean up when one Sun/Venus cycle comes to a close. A new source of power must be summoned before another can begin.

Enheduanna, the legendary Mesopotamian High Priestess, characterized Ishtar’s fury four thousand years ago in this way.

These lines ring true with the rage that is raging through our cities as I type this!

The key to making this work is to “The transformation of anything negative into something nice is a feminine process. Listening is the best approach to deal with this Great Rage. We must listen to EreshkigalIshtar’s Dark Sister, the Queen of the Underworld, both collectively and individually. She hits with perfect precision. She always comes up with the correct subliminal content. The Sun serves to illuminate and bring to light what has been hidden in shadow. The Divine Masculine is here to serve the Goddess’s principles. She is summoning strength through this alliance.

A dazzling moment of clarity is usually brought by the Sun/retro-Venus conjunction.

The sort that resonates through your body and mind like a massive temple bell.

Realization.

You get a hold of some truth.

And you already know what you need to accomplish.

Several Divine Masculine avatars, including previous presidents and generals, spoke out in favour of nonviolent protests and against the present president’s dictatorial actions and threats on the day the conjunction was exact this year.

The most surprising denunciation came from Trump’s former Defense Secretary General James Mattis, who swore he’d never criticize a sitting president but couldn’t keep quiet any longer.

When the Divine Masculine refuses to serve Her, what happens?

That’s when the most pessimistic forecasts for “When a weak and agitated Venus vanishes, the conditions for combustion are met.

This version is also accurate.

The chaos of masculine energies, the criminal damage and looting, the heightened brutality and force, co-opting the Goddess’ righteous fury demanding compassion, equality, and uplifting action, can all be seen in the riots this week. (Avatar for the weak Venus: Ivanka Trump, handing her father the Bible, which he clumsily waves after pepper gassing and rubber bulleting a peaceful protest.)

Negative combustion can also take over the inner world while Venus is retrograde.

When our righteous feminine rage is co-opted by the ego, it loses its capacity to make things right. In a personal relationship, for example, we might need things re-balanced, but our method could be harmful and counter-productive. We can harm ourselves and others if we do not have sufficient awareness (the proper use of the Sun).
