The Part of Fortune is related with the physical body and health, as well as worldly achievement. It may reveal information about a person’s employment or vocation.
The state and placement of the Part of Fortune’s ruling planet (that is, the natural ruler of the sign in which the Part of Fortune is located) are vital to consider while interpreting this Arabic part.
The Part of Fortune is linked to worldly success and prosperity. Its sign and house placement both point to innate abilities and capabilities in various aspects of life, as well as natural attributes.
The Part of Fortune is the same distance from the Ascendant as the Moon is from the Sun in terms of longitude. The Part of Fortune will be near to the Ascendant if, for example, the Sun is conjunct the Moon in the natal chart. In the natal chart, if the Sun and Moon are in opposition, the Part of Fortune will be close to the Descendant (opposite the Ascendant).
It’s worth noting that the Arabic component, the Part of Spirit, is computed in the other direction and represents the polar opposite of spiritual well-being.

What does the term “fortune” mean in astrology?
The Influence of Luck A person’s position in life is a sign of their success. The part of fortune is determined in classical astrology by the crossing lines of our top three placements in the birth chart – the sun, moon, and rising sign.
In astrology, what does fortune and vertex mean?
Have you ever pondered why certain people feel familiar to you, as if you’ve encountered their energy before but can’t quite place it? Most of the time, it has to do with your synastry (or astrological compatibility), which is the way your birth chart interacts with the birth chart of another individual. Each chart has a vertex, which is a specific point. And it’s possible that when it’s turned on, fated events will occur.
Though the vertex isn’t a real planet, it is formed by the meeting of the prime vertical and the ecliptic in a birth chart, and it can explain why you are drawn to some people but not others. It’s similar to your rising or ascending sign in that it’s a constantly changing point in the chart. It’s sometimes known as a “second ascendant,” but it’s mostly used to figure out how relationships work.
While astrology can help you figure out where you’ll have the most luck in life, the vertex pinpoints where this fate will most likely play out in your birth chart. You can simply determine where you’ll experience the greatest fate by evaluating the house location of your vertex in your chart. It’s possible that your vertex is in your seventh house of partnership, which explains why your partnerships have always gone incredibly well for you. It’s likely that your vertex is in your second house of money and possessions if you’ve always seemed to have good luck with money. Understanding where you tend to encounter blessings (and where you don’t) is a fantastic approach to engage with your birth chart’s promises.
What does your Part of Fortune symbolize for you?
Assume someone has a 20 Virgo Ascendant, a 4 Aries Moon, and a 17 Aquarius Sun. A 20 Virgo Ascendant corresponds to a 20 Pisces Descendant. This is a night birth because the Sun is between the Ascendant and the Descendant, so we employ the night birth formula.
Because this is greater than 360, we deduct 360 from the total. 483 minus 360 equals 123. The Fortune Number is 3 Leo.
The chart would be a day birth if the Sun was at 9 Cancer with this Ascendant and Moon, thus we’d apply the Day formula.
We don’t need to do anything else because this is less than 360. This gives us a Gemini Part of Fortune of 15.
The majority of people born at night have been assigned the incorrect Part of Fortune since most current authorities have used the day formula to night births! This is because Ptolemy, an old authority, seemed to suggest using the day formula for all charts. Our fresh translation of Ptolemy and his ancient interpreters have convinced us that this was not his intention. Most other ancient authors, as well as medieval astrologers, supported utilizing the day formula for day births and the night formula for night births. And these individuals know how to use the Part of Fortune.
To wrap up this note, I’ll give a quick rundown of what the Part of Fortune is. The term “Part of Fortune” is used to explain how one individual is physically connected to the rest of the world. It is one of the body’s and health’s signifiers, as well as the fundamental signifier of prosperity and career as it relates to prosperity. However, the technique of application will surprise you. This is one of the most significant findings revealed by Project Hindsight. I’ll go through that in more detail in my next note.
I discussed the procedure for determining the Part of Fortune and said a little about what it meant in the first episode of this series of notes, that it was the key to understanding the native’s prosperity and career. In this installment, I’ll go deeper into its significance and discuss how the Greeks recommended it be used.
As I previously stated, the Part of Fortune is a main indicator of wealth, but it is much more. It is made up of the Sun’s, Moon’s, and Ascendant’s longitudes, and so is made up of three of the most important points in the chart (only the Midheaven outside of these three is as important), and thus becomes as important as they are. In modern astrology, the Part of Fortune is often dismissed as a minor aspect of the chart, although this was not the case in ancient astrology.
The Ascendant is the fundamental determinant of the physical body and health in traditional astrology. The Moon is also a vital secondary indicator of the body’s health. However, there is a distinction between them. The Ascendant was thought to be the tangible, material aspect of the body. The Moon represented a living part of the body, a soul incarnated in a physical form. The Part of Fortune, which is made up of both of these elements as well as the Sun, is also a reflection of the native’s living, physical body and its interactions with the physical and social world. Its ability to represent wealth stems from this. If the native’s Part of Fortune is in good shape, the native’s relationship with the physical and social world in which he or she lives is one of support and ability to live well. When the native’s Part of Fortune is in bad shape, he or she has a tougher time maintaining a positive relationship with the world. The same can be said regarding the Part of Fortune’s relationship with health.
However, it is important to remember that no one meaning in the chart, including the Part of Fortune, may be used as a complete indicator of any aspect of life. The Ascendant and its ruler, as well as the Moon and its ruler, must all be considered when it comes to one’s health. Indicators of illness and death, the sixth and eighth houses, respectively, give significant implications for health. The second and tenth houses, as well as their rulers, should be considered for material prosperity.
However, the Part of Fortune is well-placed when benefics or dignified planets are in the same sign as it (the fact that “sign” is used here is significant, as will be seen later), or when these planets aspect the Part of Fortune.
It was also claimed that being in a sign ruled by benefics aided the Part of Fortune, and being in a sign ruled by a dignified planet aided any point in a chart.
If the Part of Fortune is in a sign with malefics, especially if the malefics are debilitated, it is not a good indication. Malefic squares, oppositions, and conjunctions are also thought to be unfavorable. As a modern astrologer, I’d have to remark that such signs don’t necessarily indicate poverty or poor health; rather, they indicate that the native will have to work harder or that the native’s options for success would be limited. However, even with those two factors in mind, the outcome can still be very beneficial.
Let me say at the end of this installment that the Part of Fortune is not simply a point like the planets or nodes. It’s the start of a home automation system. The first house of the Fortuna system extends from 0 degrees to 30 degrees of the sign in which the Part of Fortune is located, and the first house of the Fortuna system extends from 0 degrees to 30 degrees of the sign in which the Part is located. The remaining houses of the Fortuna system extend from 0 degrees to 30 degrees of their respective signs as well. In the following episode, I’ll explain what the ancients recommended for these structures.
A planet that generates results that are typically regarded as favorable or “good.” Only time will tell whether these outcomes are truly beneficial to the indigenous people. In most cases, benefics are more likely to achieve the intended outcome than malefics (see next entry). Venus, Jupiter, the Sun through trine or sextile aspects, and any planet that is well aspected and dignified are natural benefics (see note).
A planet that does not easily deliver results that are considered “excellent.” Malefics, on the whole, are not so much “evil” as they need more thinking, consciousness, and ability in life management than benefics do in most circumstances. In reality, the two major malefics, Mars and Saturn, are essential for character development and strength. However, if either of these are used without thought, they will have unfavorable outcomes. Mars, Saturn, and the Sun are natural malefics, but only when they are in conjunction.
In the end, a planet’s malefic or benefic nature is determined by a variety of circumstances. Other factors in the chart can turn planets that are naturally one way or the other into their opposite. It’s impossible to believe that Venus and Jupiter will always provide positive outcomes while Saturn and Mars will always bring negative outcomes. This is an ancient categorization that should be used with caution. Finally, I prefer Ptolemy’s description of the terms. A benefic, according to Ptolemy, is a planet whose natural influence encourages moderation and balance. A malefic planet is one whose natural influence causes imbalance and extremes.
In a variety of ways, planets can be dignified (made stronger) or debilitated (weakened). In this post, I mostly use signals to describe dignity and debility. When planets are in signs that they rule or are exalted, they are dignified. When they are in symptoms that are opposing these, they are incapacitated. These signs can be found in any basic astrological text. There are also additional dignities and disabilities. Essential Dignities, by Lee Lehman, Whitford Press.
How do you interpret a fortune cookie?
Your good luck charm indicates where you can obtain fortune in your life. It’s a sensitive point that, when stimulated, can suggest good fortune heading your way. This chart, which is based on the sun, moon, and ascendant, can help you discover what attributes you already possess and how you might use them to be more successful in life.
In astrology, which house represents luck?
The 9th house in Kundli is the fortunate house of trust, wisdom, and divine devotion in Indian astrology. It is the most powerful trine house, indicating one’s current fortune as a result of past actions. What we experience in this lifetime is a direct effect of our activities in the previous birth, according to Vedic Astrology (also known as Hindu astrology).
The fortunes you have accumulated as a result of good karma committed in a previous life are revealed by studying the ninth house. The 9th house, commonly known as the luck house, affects your capacity to dodge problems without exerting excessive effort.
The 9th house, also known as the Dharma Bhava or Pitru Bhava, signifies good karma, ethics, religious inclinations, spiritual inclination, higher learning, and ideals. This is where we search for life’s greater meaning.
Because the 9th sign of the zodiac, Dhanush (Sagittarius), is ruled by Guru (Jupiter), the spiritual teacher and preceptor, the 9th house is also associated with Father. The intelligent Jupiter, the ruling planet of the 9th house, is in charge of assigned law, legal arbitration, spiritual initiation, instruction, and all things related to it.
Do you recall how the third house in the kundli is associated with intuition and pure reason? The 9th house, on the other hand, governs for greater and more sophisticated reasons.
Fundamentals of 9th House in Kundli
Teachers, gurus, priests, attorneys, advisors, and professionals of any kind are all represented in the 9th House.
Teaching, learning, preaching, chanting mantras, and giving religious gifts are all acts associated with the 9th House.
Planets in 9th House of Kundli: Significance & Effects
Sun in 9th House: You will be philosophical and pious if the Sun is in your 9th House. With this placement, you may be a fantastic teacher or religious leader. Your children and family will form a beautiful bond with you.
Moon in 9th House: You are naturally adept at reading signs and omens while the Moon is in the 9th house. You’ll have a strong sense of right and wrong, and you’ll draw toward the philosophical. You are creative and excel in topics like as philosophy, spirituality, and religion.
Jupiter in the 9th House: Jupiter’s presence in the 9th house is regarded as a wonderful blessing.
This location gives you the best chance to live a life guided by excellent ethics and ideals. Jupiter will develop your intelligence, spiritual wisdom, scholastic abilities, and ability to inspire others. You’ll even have the power to sway other people’s opinions.
Venus in the 9th House: You will be drawn to art, music, foreign culture, and travel if Venus is in the 9th house. You’ll be a fair-minded individual with a unique perspective on spirituality and personal philosophy.
Mars in the 9th House: A person with a strong will to battle for their values and principles is revealed by Mars’ placement in the 9th house. You’re likely to have strong feelings about something. When dealing with legal issues, you should use extreme caution. Decisions should be made logically, not emotionally.
Mercury in the Ninth House: Mercury in the Ninth House might help you become a great teacher and orator. You’ll have a strong spiritual tendency. You are more likely to have a greater level of knowledge, making you an inspiration to others. This is a really innovative job opportunity, particularly for individuals who work in writing and other forms of communication. You should continue your language study because you are likely to be fluent in several.
Saturn in the 9th House: Saturn’s position will assist you in focusing on the deeper realities of life. Saturn, the teacher, wishes for us to acquire life lessons and grow as people. This planet in the 9th house may present obstacles; all you have to do is rise above them. This is also a positive sign for accumulating wealth, which you will obtain through hard effort.
Rahu in the 9th House: Rahu’s location in the kundli’s 9th house will inspire you to grasp the subjects of religion and philosophy. The knowledge you receive may be superficial, and you may utilize it to obtain advantages. Rahu in the 9th house can bring otherworldly skills to you. Your principles and views are out of the ordinary, but they inspire others.
Ketu in the Ninth House: Natives born with Ketu in the Ninth House are inherently pious, intellectual, and spiritual. Because Ketu detaches the person from what the house of its placement represents, these tendencies may be dormant in your life. This is a bad situation for the natives because their father’s health may deteriorate.
What planet is the source of fame?
The 5th and 9th houses, commonly known as Trikonas or Laxmi Sthan, are also significant for renown. The 5th house is the home of creativity, education, learning, romance, talent, and dancing, as well as the home of the Sun, the natural significator of renown in Astrology. While the 9th house is your Bhagya, or what you are destined to become in this lifetime, it is also the house of fate and destiny. The individual who want to become renowned must also be “Bhagyawan,” meaning he must be able to assume responsibility for thousands of millions of people, which can only be granted through the 9th house.
Sun, Mars, Venus, Jupiter, Moon, Saturn, and Rahu are the planets in Vedic Astrology that can grant tremendous fame.
In astrology, what is Chiron?
Chiron represents our deepest scars and how we might overcome them in modern astrology.
Chiron is named after a Greek healer, philosopher, and teacher who, paradoxically, was unable to heal himself, and is symbolized by a key, suggesting the significance of unlocking the important lessons of this minor planet.
Our Chiron placement is our secret power in many ways. We earn insight as a result of our struggles with pain, which we can pass on to others like a wonderful balm.
Chiron usually spends eight years in a single zodiac sign. (However, once in Saturn’s orbit, he can fly past a single sign in less than two years.) It’s entirely up to him whether he wants outpatient surgery or a longer course of treatment.)
Because it takes Chiron 49 years to travel through all 12 zodiac signs, we all experience a “Chiron return” about the time we age 50.
Our inner scars may resurface at this stage, requiring another session of therapy, especially if we’ve previously avoided any deeper self-examination. If we’ve “finished our task,” we can be asked to take on leadership roles that allow us to share our knowledge and use our healing abilities at this time.
What is your ascension?
The majority of us are aware of our own and our friends’ star signs, also known as sun signs. Isn’t it how we all make passive aggressive judgments while bigging ourselves up on Instagram with zodiac memes? Our moon signs are also known to us. But did you know you have a RISING SIGN that’s just as important?
The planetary influence that was rising, i.e. on the Eastern horizon, when you were born is your rising sign. It usually reflects how others perceive you in real life and can predict your gut reactions to situations. It is, however, yet another potential personality flaw to consider.
Because of its connection to the rising sun, your rising sign is also known as your ascendant, and many people associate it with your social nature, it’s possible that if someone is guessing your sign, they will get your rising sign before your sun sign! It’s how other people perceive you, which is something you’ll never have. This makes it a fascinating aspect of your birth chart to investigate: discovering who you are in the eyes of others.
In astrology, who is Lilith?
In astrology, what is the Black Moon Lilith? The black moon, also known as the Black Moon Lilith, is the point on the moon’s orbit where it is the furthest away from Earth. Lilith, unlike the planets and asteroids in your birth chart, isn’t a physical entity, according to the AstroTwins.
