The Sun spends about 30 days in each zodiac sign. The Moon changes signs every 2 1/2 days, taking 28 days to cycle through all 12 phases.
Due to retrogrades, the length of Mercury in each sign changes. Mercury can spend 15 to 60 days in each sign. Mercury is never more than two signs away from the Sun at any given time because to the retrograde cycles.
Depending on the sign, Venus can stay in a sign for up to two months.
In addition, Venus is never more than two signs away from the Sun.
Every two months, Mars changes signs.
When Mars retrogrades, it can spend up to 7 months in one sign.
Jupiter spends around a year in each sign and goes through all 12 signs in a year.
Saturn spends about 2 1/2 years in each sign and takes 29-30 years to traverse through all 12 signs.
Uranus changes signs every 7 years and travels through all 12 signs every 84 years.
Neptune changes signs every 14 years and travels through all 12 signs in 164 years.
Pluto changes signs every 12 to 31 years and travels through all 12 signs in 248 years.

In astrology, how near is Mars to the Sun?
Mars is about half the size of Earth, with a radius of 2,106 miles (3,390 kilometers). Mars would be about the size of a raspberry if Earth were the size of a nickel.
Mars is 1.5 astronomical units distant from the Sun, at a distance of 142 million miles (228 million kilometers). The distance between the Sun and Earth is measured in astronomical units (abbreviated as AU). It takes 13 minutes for sunlight to travel from the Sun to Mars at this distance.
In astrology, how far away from the Sun may Mercury be?
I’ve been studying astrology for 35 years, sometimes less and sometimes more. After decades of providing routine consultations, lecturing, teaching, and publishing articles, I began to suspect that chartreading might be done with nearly anything. Every now and then, I get the impression that there are a plethora of fresh techniques to chart interpretation. The increasing order of the inner planets is included in one of these open models.
Thinking about the ascending order necessitates taking into account the planets’ movements. The Sun’s interaction with Mercury and Venus varies multiple times during the course of a year. Mercury may be the morning or evening planet at different times of the year, but Venus eventually takes its place, beautifying the late nights before switching to be the morning star. As a result, Mercury and Venus continue to dance around the Sun in a pretty fixed, lawful pattern. Mercury’s and, to a lesser extent, Venus’ retrograde periods make things more challenging. Is there any significance to the changing interaction between the Sun and the inner planets?
MiniatureEgo
Because the Sun is firmly set to represent human ego, the center of all conscious, purposeful life, we must examine what happens to ego when the inner planets, Mercury and Venus, encircle it in a certain way. Because of their orbits between Earth and Sun, they are never far from the Sun. Mercury’s maximum distance from the Sun is merely 28 degrees, while Venus’s is 48 degrees. As a result, they are inextricably linked to the Sun. However, the manner they are connected to the Sun differs substantially.
Our ego requires assistance. As the Sun has determined, there are primal desires, a drive to live and stay alive. Mercury and Venus are assisting us by providing something else our ego requires in order to mature into a fully developed, healthy focus for our life’s mission. Sun, Mercury, and Venus, taken as a triplicity, depict the essential being, a miniatureMan. In this concept, there are just three primary functions: the centralwill (Sun), which is supported by the intellectual, perceptive, and criticalfunctions (Mercury), and the affectional function (Venus), which is based on sensuous, aesthetic pleasure.
You don’t need to be an expert in chart interpretation.
Just compare the charts and the people they represent, trying to figure out what makes them tick in such a unique way. That is sufficient. There is a growing pattern of significance, however – as with all astrology – you may not be able to persuade everyone else to perceive it… I first noticed these significant coincidences in the way the Sun aligns with Mercury and Venus about ten years ago. The inner circle of any chart, in my opinion, is formed by the Sun, Mercury, and Venus. They are the ego’s nucleus. I also refer to the inner planets as “insiders” who are dealing directly with the Solar boss.
Threefunctions
‘Rising order’ simply implies that you must pay attention to which of these three comes first, second, or third. Move the Ascendant above the Sun, Mercury, and Venus, or whatever combination of three planets is in your chart, in your imagination. The planets and AS-DCaxis move anticlockwise and always cross the Sun and the innerplanets in the same order, regardless of what is going on in the chart by transits, progressions, or directions. This is how our ego receives life experiences by default.
The followingschema is produced by the rising order of the Sun, Mercury, and Venus:
1. Rising First – a planet that represents original perceptions, reactions, and life attitudes (in service of the ego). How we receive and transmit life experiences to number two. What is going to happen to us? This is what I refer to as a “internalizing function.” It starts the ego’s growing process.
2. Risingsecond – a planet that solidifies impressions, experiences, feelings, and knowledge – the “raw stuff” that number one “throwsin.” Inus is a realistic, reality-based principle. Who are the people who have their egos stabilized? The task of elaboration (or “managing function”) is to do just that. It is in the middle position, energizing or strengthening the ego. The critical point is in the center.
Third, a planet that requires additional nourishment in order to grow and become more integrated. It’s a possible weak spot in our psyche, a little disconnected from our main point of consciousness. It also has a constructive function, such as developing ideas and addressing the question, “How should we be?” This, in my opinion, is a function of “future orientation.” This is the planet in the rear-view mirror, indicating flaws or vulnerabilities that should be investigated furtherperhaps not right away, but later when we have more time and interest. “It’s not going to happen,” the result sometimes says.
This, at least in my opinion, is a pretty natural way to view the interaction between the Sun and the inner planets. Second, I believe that in order to grasp the system’s meaning, we must have a basic comprehension of the Sun, Mercury, and Venus.
The Sun is the Ego’s constructing power, the vital impulse to live and prosper.
It gives us the will to live and our unshakeable convictions about what it means to be “myself.” The Sun is a tyrant, aruler, and reality has a”ruling touch” to it. The Sun, the big masculine god, does not require the assistance of others.
Mercury provides a framework through which we attempt to explain everything.
We’ll need mental associations, intellectual talents, and learning processes to execute this properly. Mercury’s perspective on reality is “cold” – it does not judge things and has no preference for pleasure or pain – things are simply true or false, interesting or boring. It is also a planet of business and currency exchange.
In this system, Venus is the polar opposite of Mercury. Because it exists in the midst of human relationships and is fed by emotions, loves, and subconscious desires, it has a”warm touch”on reality. It, like Mercury (forming observations, impressions, or processing mind-stuff) and the Sun, can’t stand aside from anything because of its participation (standing alone in its majestic aloofness). Venus promotes human culture by admiring pure form and loving beauty. Venus is the planet of harmonious cultural exchange, artistic delight, and ease.
The ideaof the scout
Traditional astrologers are familiar with the term’scouting’ (or ‘oriental’) when it comes to planets, which essentially means that one or more planets are ahead of the Sun. In addition, the ascending sequence is counterclockwise. If Mars is 13 degrees Virgo and the Sun is 22 degrees Virgo, and there are no other planets between them, Mars is the Scout.
The term’scout’ is usually associated with military life. In the army, scouts were used to ensure that the terrain was secure. Scouts were largely drawn from the ranks of the native population. They have acute senses and a thorough understanding of their own territory. During the Westward advance, the US army hired Indians to spy hostile Indians. The Lappish people of the far north were reported to have an uncanny capacity to locate a specific site in an area of several hundred square kilometers. More awe-inspiring exploits have been documented among Australia’s indigenous inhabitants. Scouting skill is “inherited” by people who have lived in the same place for millennia. Instead of’scout,’ we can use the term ‘pilot,’ which refers to seamanship and the capacity to safely direct vessels through narrow straits to port.
In our graphic, the scoutingplanet acts similarly naturally, detecting potential threats and hazards and notifying those following after.
Scouts, on the other hand, act proactively, discovering the simplest and safest routes to travel, as well as food supplies and water wells for others. The planetary scout serves the same purpose, and in most circumstances, Mercury is the scout.
However, we must expand the strategy to include the third member. The alignment of the inner planets with the Sun is crucial regardless of which of Mercury or Venus is the Scout – or none of them – since Mercury and Venus with the Sun are a whole. The inner planets are frequently, but not always, “agents” for the Sun. Mercury is the sharper scout, while Venus is better at spotting opportunities to avoid disputes and participate in social situations.
We’re not talking about the entire graph here. This method focuses on the Sun. Mercury and Venus circle the Sun and are, in some ways, subordinate to it. The Sun represents the strength of the ego, the monarch, the ruler, and the godhead. Mercury is the Sun’s spokesperson, communicating its master’s speech through writing, speaking, or acting as a scribe. Venus’ services are more subtle, but they function through human interests, primarily the need to be accepted and loved. We are not “objective” when we love someone or something; we are wearing coloured spectacles.
We can naively identify Mercury as a sign of “cold” things and Venus as a symbol of “warm” things at first glance.
The Sun is heavily influenced by the rising order of the inner planets, as well as all of the aspects it produces. Mercury is “cool” because it focuses on thinking and intellectual activities. Venus is a planet of love, affection, sex, and feminine lebenslust that is “warm” or “magnetic.”
Sun-Mercury-Venus
What follows is easily discernible from this ascending sequence. This individual is at comfortable with himself or herself. He “knows” how things are done and is driven by a relentless desire to succeed. But he knows exactly how things should be done – the way he wants them to be done. There are no other possibilities! Perhaps he is compelled to control himself by superiors or circumstances, but it is not easy. He is a master of most circumstances, being opinionated and taking a strong stand for or against. Pushing forward, he prioritizes himself and is not hesitant to take the initiative. He succeeds in whatever field he chooses. He or she has a low emotive predisposition, allowing him to “see only the facts” or carry out tasks that are simple enough. He is brimming with desires, determination, and commanding personality traits. He will make an exceptional executive official, governmental employee, or entrepreneur if he makes the best use of his abilities. He is a natural leader with an inflated ego who feels exceptional or powerful. People behind him murmur, “How self-centered!” “The Manager,” “Master of the House,” “The Manager,” “The Manager,” “The Manager,” “The Manager,” ” Sun-Mercury-Venus might say, “Ok, let’s get it done!” if there is apara describing the basic feelings in every combination. “Move on!” or “Move on!” It’s important to remember which planet is the scout when the Sun rises first. This was Stalin’s, and the scout was Mars in Scorpio, while Cromwell had Uranus in Aries.
Richard III, Randolph W. Hearst, Vladimir Putin, Silvio Berlusconi, Tom Jones, and Mick Jagger are just a few examples. Kublai Khan’s conquest prowess.
Sun-Venus-Mercury
A mellower version This kind, like the first, knows how to run things, but unlike the first, he or she is more concerned with how the different outcomes effect the people around them. She puts forth a lot of effort and devotion to avoid collisions. He enjoys playing the roles of “benevolent leader,” “loving master,” “decent father/mother,” and “dependable breadwinner.” When combined with the overall chart’s more affectionate attitude, he or she could be a true seducer or heart-winner. This combo has lots of possibilities for love and romance. When there is a show going on in his life or a fantastic love tale that brings forth his greatest attributes, life frequently works out best. This type devotes his abilities to something tangible and constructive, despite an otherwise sober chart. He’s a terrific fund-raiser or an apolitical, humanitarian trailblazer at best. Not surprisingly, there may be something “Apollonian” about his archetypal make-up, with plenty of light and clarity in their minds! They want to be seen and heard, and they want to be respected. They could have a tendency to brag. “The snob,” says the narrator. “Take a look at how it flows!” It is also critical to comprehend the scout’s duty. Cosimode Medici, for example, possessed this, and Uranus was scouting.
Mercury-Sun-Venus
This one is dubbed “the Dictator” by me. Of course, it’s a foolish overstatement, but it contains a kernel of truth (see the list ofworld dictators at theend of the article). Consider Mercury as an ego-feeding scout. The Sun simply has information and knowledge, while Venus, the human aspect in us, may be far behind. The combination provides complete independence in making judgments without seeking opinion from others. It can sometimes imply that the “warm” half of us has been beaten, outscreened. It’s possible that it’s not fully incorporated into our psyche. For this category, there are noob stories! This sort of person is fully functional, able to act and react efficiently, and is well-suited to lead others, to chart his own course without regard for the repercussions or any wounded feelings. As a result, it’s possible that relationships linger because they’re not in focus at all, or because they’re handled with trepidation or indifference, or because obligations are postponed to the “nearfuture.” Over time, emotions of being shut off from the world and other beings may intensify. “The self-sufficient man” or “The tyrant.” Here’s what I’d recommend: “It’s up to me! Don’t even think about messing with me!”
Leonardo da Vinci, Beethoven, Winston Churchill, George Bush jr., Sarah Palin, and Josef Fritzl are just a few examples (the incestuous father of the Amstetten case inAustria).
Mercury-Venus-Sun
People with a sensitive nose for new items, trends, and changes in the cultural environment exist. This, I feel, is the type who lives on the cutting edge of any kind of “modernity.” At its best, perfectly tuned to receive impressions, mental associations, and information from the outside world, reacting like a chameleon to shifting colors and attitudes when necessary. There is an inclination to keep up with the times, a desire to remain current. At best, cultured, interested in the arts and creative activities, but occasionally amateurish, helpless to change things and lacking the stamina to do so. This can be an extremely mental combo, as the order suggests. In the worst-case scenario, the foundations are shallow, and reality consists solely of conceptions, taught theories, or perhaps aesthetic ideals. In the worst-case scenario, living in thinair could result in a disconnection from reality. This type isn’t typically the hardworking man on the street, but rather someone more refined and refined. It can sometimes signify a soul that is highly complex, if not perplexed. “Trendsetter”,”avant-gardist”. To summarize the underlying mindset, it goes like this: “Have you seen the literary supplement in today’s New York Times? What are your thoughts?”
Both Mercury-first combinations are well-suited for tracking down newscentresand events that must be understood and analyzed.
Venus-Mercury-Sun
Mercury, as a center planet, indicates that in order to be fulfilled in life, ego requires a great deal of intellectual material and variety. Venus is the first to rise, emphasizing the significance of the human world above the objective, natural world. This order, in my opinion, represents a curious, inquisitive mindset with a diverse range of interests to broaden one’s mental horizons. You must conduct research to learn how things are and how they effect our social lives and culture as a whole. You must be “in the field,” gathering information, connecting with others, and experiencing a variety of events. The Sun is last in this list, implying that it may be difficult to be certain of anything, even yourself and your image. It may be difficult to draw conclusions or be certain of anything. As a result, the worldview may stay open and probing – ironically. It all depends on how close you sleep to me (LeonardCohen). Naturally, human concern evolves, so we don’t grow into this kind to be a conventional realist or naturalist, but rather to be interested in topics that have to do with human relationships. As a result, all of this usually leads to cultural interests. This personality type frequently focuses on one area and becomes an expert in it. His demands are well-served by a literary manifestation of his views. These people rarely have something absolute to say (but keep in mind the big picture), but they usually have a lot of propositions, cumulative wisdom, and even intellectual ideas in their heads to help improve the human condition. And they frequently have a modest or humble mindset, which keeps them positioned below their own potential. “The observer” and “the researcher.” “Yes, I understand, but there have been some fresh developments (information, news, or findings)…”
Venus-Sun-Mercury
If there is a rightful place for this type of person in society, it should be among those who are doing good work to bring people together. He or she may be a genuinely kind and loving man or woman, or he or she may be highly superficial and given to beautifulappearances. He has excellent taste, bordering on extravagant, and a distinct style in which he employs them. He sometimes aspires to idealised truth or beauty, regardless of the circumstances. He would prefer to live a eulogized life filled with plenty of social interactions, love affairs, and financial wealth. He receives a lot of attention and respect because he is naive and openly attached to other men. His preference for ‘yes’ responses renders him vulnerable to flattery and deceptive social role-playing. His value system could be surprisingly conservative or unexpectedly hefty. On the plus side, there’s more to it than a lovely setting. He or she could be exemplary, a man with a remarkable ability to bring men together for a worthy cause. He is exalted needlessly when he lives on a pedestal, and he loses touch with common realities. It may be appropriate for him to represent something significant or to provide stability, honor, or even grandeur to beliefs and ideologies. “The leading figure” is a phrase used to describe someone who is in charge. “You can trust me if you look me in the eyes.”
RoiSoleil Louis XIV, Tolstoi, Benjamin Disraeli, Oscar Wilde, Alan Leo, Edward VII, Alfred Hitchcock, John Lennon, Nelson Mandela are only a few examples.
Both the Venus-first ascending orders strive to humanize the world in order to make it more pleasurable and rewarding in terms of sensual and aesthetic pleasure.
Extensions
There are common and uncommon planetary orders among these six different planetary orders, strictly from a statistical standpoint. Venus-Sun-Mercury, Mercury-Sun-Venus, Sun-Mercury-Venus, and Venus-Mercury-Sun are the most common variations. Each of these accounts for about 20-22 percent of all charts. On the other side, two rare diamonds, Mercury-Venus-Sun and Sun-Venus-Mercury, account for around 6-7 percent of all charts. These figures must be taken with a grain of salt. I didn’t confirm these data against a large number of charts, only a couple hundred.
Of all, this is only a small portion of the overall picture. I offered a fuller picture of the positioning and order of the Sun-Mercury-Venus triad in my book (in Finnish) Astrologiansispiiri (TheInner Circle of Astrology, originally, literally translated, “A Kingly Court and itsSubjects”), published in 2004. By considering the split of the innerplanets into signs, you can gain significantly more knowledge and comprehension. Is it possible that they’re all on the same sign? Is the Sun-Mercury conjunction in one sign and Venus in another? Are they all strewn about, each in their own sign? A zodiac sign is wholeness in and of itself; it contains a certain quality – a Cancerian quality for all innerplanets. If the Sun, Mercury, and Venus are all in the same sign, the sign that governs over them and unifies their expression is the sign that rules over them. As a result, it becomes either a narcissistic projectoror an extremely fluid mental manifestation of a person’s powerful talents. It might end up doing simple tasks on a regular basis, such as writing or speaking in front of an audience. Making music or singing can also be beneficial.
Due to space constraints, I’ll have to say this quickly. Cohesion, a unifying process, is represented by all three signs in one symbol. The mind is, in general, synthetic. Each inner planet, on the other hand, represents three alternative qualitative expressions in its own sign, and each of them competes with the others. Because of a lack of inner conviction, the thinking becomes more analytical and maybe rife with conflicts and opportunities that may be out of reach. Who is this well-known I? Are there a lot of us?
The overarching meaning and purpose of the ego-centred psyche is determined by any other planet situated in the midst of the Sun-Mercury-Venus circle. This is self-evident. I’ve used the inner planets, Sun, Mercury, and Venus, as a metaphor for therudimentary”I.” The Sun provides the strength and vital urge to become “me,” and Mercury and Venus assist in that process. The concept of theego-structure is completely altered when a fourth planetary member “insidethe insiders.” Several outer planets cutting in between inner planets are more prominent, giving the impression that the basic ego and its servants have been replaced. This could result in a unique style of managing one’s own life. The rule of thumb is that if outerplanets are invading the inner circle, the inner planets’ alignment will have less interpretative power. When things become more convoluted, the crystal cut meaning quickly fades. It works best when there are no invaders in the sacred space of the Sun, Mercury, and Venus.
Divided bythe signs
The possibilities for expanding the interpretation system are endless. The inner planets and the Sun will be paired in the next step. Sun-Mercury or Sun-Venus in the same sign – together or separately – and Mercury-Venus together with the Sun in a different sign. What exactly does that imply? The Sun is the ruler, the powerhouse, and it has dominion over all planets that come under its glorious influence. When Mercury conjuncts the Sun, or when the Sun and any inner planet are in the same sign, the Sun’s might overwhelms the lesser body. The Sun-Mercury conjunction indicates an active mindset, maybe motivated by a desire to know or perceive the “personal truth,” which, no matter how eloquently conveyed, is a powerful message. Sun-Venusoften creates the sense that this person’s life goal is to obtain lifelong love and friendship, as well as to become a well-liked figure. Even if it isn’t easy, there are ways to get the idea across. Love is a force that propels you forward. These are straightforward, well-informed, and likable characters.
However, the Sun and Venus sharing the same sign could indicate that Mercury is not sharing their sign, as he is either in the preceding or following sign.
This is a more revealing example. If Mercury rises in the sign before yours, your overall personality reveals a desire for nice and simple things, which you can achieve by being very knowledgeable and acutely scanning your social environment for something of current interest to make an impression on others or talk them off their feet. If Venus rises in a sign before a Sun-Mercuryconjunction, for example, it conceals the person’s calculating character and strives to promote him or her by giving a finely tunedlikeable picture.
There are also some other intriguing aspects to consider. The distances between the inner planets is a fascinating topic. Maximum Venus or maximum Mercury, whether ahead of or behind the Sun, gives a different picture, yet it all boils down to the differences between the Sun and its subjects.
Your own unique combination of three planets in your natal chart may vary throughout time as a result of advancement. The combination can vary multiple times throughout the course of a lifetime. These are the periods when your ego requires a fresh focus and attitude, possibly necessitating the adoption of new approaches to continue your development.
No one should believe that this kind of chart reading can replace traditional interpretation approaches. No matter what the planetary arrangement is, a strongconjunction of Sunand Pluto remains a compelling feature in the chart. Be warned: there is no one-size-fits-all astrological strategy or method of interpretation.
