Astrology can be perplexing and intimidating. You may or may not be familiar with the term “transitastrologers frequently use this term because it is an essential astrological concept, particularly in predictive astrology.”
You may not be familiar with the phrase “transit,” but when you read something like “Jupiter moves into Scorpio” or “Venus swaps signs and is now in Virgo,” you’re reading about planetary transits.
But, above all, you want to know how a transportation will affect you. What does Jupiter’s entry into Scorpio signify for you? What does Venus’s new sign of Virgo imply to you?
To understand how planetary transits will effect you, it’s necessary to first define what a transit is.
The movements of the planets in the sky relative to the Earth are referred to as ‘Transits’ in Astrology.
A transit occurs when the Sun moves across the sky and rises somewhat east or west than it did the day before. The transit of the Sun is a celestial event that occurs as the Sun passes across
A transit occurs when the Moon is full and shines brightly in the night sky, or when the Moon is just a sliver of a crescent waxing moon. The Moon is transiting.
Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn, too, rise and set in different parts of the sky every day. These are transits as well.
“The act or event of going across or through; a passage from one location to another,” says the dictionary.
We now know that a “transit” is only relative to something else. When you want to know how a planetary transit will affect you, you look at your natal chart in relation to the planets’ movement at a certain point in time.
A transit chart constantly compares the sky at the time of your birth to the sky at a specific point in time.
Let’s pretend you were born on January 1st, 1970. This is your natal chart, and it will remain the same for the rest of your life. A transit, on the other hand, can occur at any time. You can check up transits from June 5th, 1998, through October 10th, 2017, and pretty much any other day in the past or future.

1. You go to astro.com’s home page and click on “Horoscopes for free
2. You will then be sent to the next page. Make a click on “Charts with more options
4. Create your guest profile in order to generate your natal chart. As indicated below, enter your name and birth information, including birthday, time of birth, nationality, and birth town:
5. You’re almost there! You should now go to “Chart type” and scroll down to “Natal chart with transits.” Then you choose “Transits and the natal chart
Then you proceed to “For charts indicated with a *, enter the start date for the transit you’re interested in. Because the current date is set by default, you should leave it as is if you’re interested in the transits for today.
FOR EXAMPLE, if you wish to check your transits for the date Jupiter entered Scorpio (October 10th, 2017), you can do so by selecting that date “10th of October, 2017.
6. Your chart and planetary transits for the 10th of October 2017 have been generated!
The location of the planets at the moment of your birth is represented by all of the planets inside the wheel, which are all colored black. This is your horoscope for the day you were born. The transits, or the positions of the planets in the sky on October 10th, are represented by the planets outside the circle, which are colored green.
When reading transits, you compare the position of the planets at the time of your birth to the position of the planets on the date you want a forecast for.

You do this by looking for Jupiter outside the circle (if you want to see where Jupiter was positioned at the time of your birth, you would look inside the circle remember inside the circle is your natal chart, outside the circle, is the transit)
The planet Jupiter is red-hued.
Is it visible to you? This is the transit of Jupiter.
You’re now curious as to how the Jupiter transit will affect you. To do so, look inside the circle and locate the correct number (from 1 to 12). The numbers 1 to 12 are referred to as homes. A natal house placement occurs when a planet within the circle is in a house. A transit occurs when a planet moves outside the circle.
You claim that Jupiter inside the circle is in your 12th house “Jupiter, my natal planet, is in my 12th house. If Jupiter is in your 12th house outside the circle, you say “My 12th house is currently under the influence of Jupiter.
The planets that make up the circle do not change. Your natal chart remains constant throughout your life. The planets outside the circle, on the other hand, are always changing.
This is how a transit should be read. You examine the planets outside the circle and the houses through which they pass. Jupiter will transit your 12th house in the example below.
7. Let’s look at another scenario. You should now look at the Moon in the same chart. You want to know which house in your natal chart the Moon is transiting.
8. Now let’s look at a slightly more complex example. Let’s imagine you’ve heard that the Solar Eclipse in Leo will occur at 28 Leo, and you’re curious about which section of your horoscope it will touch.
28 Leo is in the 9th house in the scenario below. Although you can’t see the 28, you can see a little grid where the zodiac sign of Leo is divided into 30 small lines, each indicating one zodiac degree. As a result, 28 Leo refers to the 28th line within the Leo zodiac sign.
You now know that Jupiter will transit your 12th house from October 10th, when Jupiter enters Scorpio, until November 9th, 2018, for someone born on January 1st, 1970 at 5:32 AM in LA, California. This means that matters relating to the 12th house will come into focus from October 10th, when Jupiter enters Scorpio, until November 9th, 2018.
PS: Keep in mind that there are various methods for calculating the houses (you may be more familiar with Placidus house system for example).
What is the best way to read a transit?
- Identify the eyepiece. The crosshairs can be brought into focus by turning this.
- The leveling vial is located above the level’s scope.
- The focusing knob is located at the end of the scope.
- The horizontal graduated circle is a degree-marked circular guide used to read horizontal angles.
- Just above the horizontal graded circle is the horizontal tangent knob, which is used to adjust left and right.
- The vertical tangent knob is on the right side of the scope, on the near side, and is used to adjust up and down.
- The vertical direction is locked in place by the vertical lock knob, which is just past.
- Just below the horizontal graduated circle are the leveling screws. To keep the device level, these can be changed.
- A detachable sunshade is available on some levels to shield sunlight from the lens.
In astrology, what are transit readings?
“The term “transits” in astrology refers to the planets’ continual movement, as opposed to their positions at your birth or when some other significant event occurred. Transits mirror our collective reality, the world we’re all living in together, because they are tied to current reality. Transits are like cards that the world delivers us, and how we play them determines how we change and how our destiny unfolds.”
What are the most essential transits?
Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto transits, which can span months or even years, are the most important for preparing forward.
Jupiter and Saturn transits can be highly significant as well, but because they only run for a few weeks at a time, they are more beneficial for planning (or avoiding) specific actions in the future.
Because Venus, Mars, and Mercury move quickly around our chart and only transit our natal planets for a few days, it’s more useful to look at which houses they’re currently transiting through rather than the aspects they’re making to the natal chart unless you’re looking for very precise timing of activity, such as an open cart.
You’d go insane trying to keep track of all of your Venus, Mars, and Mercury transits each year!
Finally, because the moon and sun move so quickly, it is not particularly useful to consider transits involving the transiting moon or sun because they only last for hours or days. However, it is useful to consider which part of our chart they are bringing energy to each day, week, and month, and this is something I teach students how to do in my program Your Soulful Year.

In Vedic Astrology, the Navamsa is a Divisional Chart that is highly significant to see. The D9 chart is another name for it. Navamsa means “nine Amsa,” and Amsa means “division.” Navamsa literally translates to “9th Division of a Sign.” The strength of planets in your horoscope is determined by the Navamsa chart. It’s the D9 Chart, which allows you to zoom in on different elements of your life up to 9 times to disclose priceless information about your marriage, life after a certain age, and fortune turnaround. The chart is especially useful in the area of marriage, as it may anticipate when a couple will marry and how delays can be avoided.
Some individuals have the misconception that the D9 chart activates after marriage, but this is not true. The main birth chart is used to create the navamsa chart. The positions of the planets in the primary birth chart are physical positions or Zodiac positions at the time of our birth. However, every divisional chart, including the D9 chart, is merely a logical interpretation or placement. As a result, all of our divisional charts D-9, D-10, and so on are active the instant we are born into this world. To determine the true strength of the planets, the Navamsa should be paired with D-27 (Bhamsha chart).
The gods of the first, fourth, and seventh Navamsas have divine importance. Generosity, power, and money are all attributes it portrays.
The rulers of the second, fifth, and eighth Navamsas represent spiritual renown and benevolence. It refers to a person who is compassionate, has a good heart, and is well-known for working for human welfare.
The 3rd, 6th, and 9th Navamsa lords have demonic significance. It reflects the traits of a demon or Rakshasa, such as being cruel, violent, selfish, and possessing negative tendencies.
The maintaining of yogas in the Lagna chart is a significant aspect of Navamsa that many astrologers overlook. In the Navamsa horoscope, the Rajyogas, or benefic or malefic yogas in the planets, may be seen retaining. We occasionally encounter a chart with two or more Exalted Planets or planets in the same sign, but the person does not achieve much in life. However, a person with poor planet placements can attain a lot of success and status in life. This occurs because when an exalted planet is debilitated in D9 or in the enemy sign in Navamsa, it does not provide favorable results.
Some Rajyogas of the birth horoscope, such as Atma karaka, Putra karaka, Dhara karaka, Amatya karaka, and others, if maintained or increased in number in the Navamsa chart, can be considered very good progress and provide better outcomes after the age of 30. Other negative natal chart combinations can turn positive in Navamsa and vice versa, which must be investigated for accurate astrological predictions.
Planets that are weak in the Lagna chart but strong in the Navamsa are said to bring good fortune. Planets that are reinforced in the Navamsa chart are said to be three times as powerful as those in the Lagna chart. A planet that is in the same place in the birth chart as it is in the Navamsha chart is said to be extremely powerful. The Lagna Chart analysis only provides a broad overview of the various houses and planets. As a result, the Navamsa chart is highly significant in astrology, and we must use it to gain a better understanding.
In astrology, how long do transits last?
Mercury, Venus, Mars, and Jupiter occasionally pass over the same degrees of the zodiac three times due to their retrograde motion; Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune do so even more frequently; and Pluto passes over all degrees of the zodiac at least three times; Neptune and Pluto can even pass over some degrees of the zodiac up to five times. Transits of Mercury, Venus, and Mars are considered more noteworthy if they occur during a retrograde phase and pass three times over the same zodiac degree. Transits of the Moon and Sun have effects that endure for a few hours or up to two days, depending on how strong they are.
