Rashi Chart
The Rashis are the divisions of the 360 degrees of the Zodiac into twelve portions of 30 degrees each, as everyone knowledgeable with the basics of astrology knows. Mesha (Aries), Rishaba (Taurus), Mithuna (Gemini), Kark (Cancer), Simha (Leo), Kanya (Virgo), Tula (Libra), Vrishik (Scorpio), Dhanus (Saggitarius), Makara (Capricorn), Kumbha (Aquarius), and Meena (Aquarius) are the names of the Rashis (Pisces). Lagna
The ascendant, or Lagna, is the most important part of the birth chart. This is due to the fact that the Lagna is where the houses of the chart are counted from. For example, if the Lagna is in Taurus, Mithuna (Gemini) is the second house, Kark (Cancer) is the third house, and so on in a Rashi chart. This is based on the notion that the first house starts at the same degree as the Rashi of the Lagna Rashi.
Bhava Chalit / Bhav Chalit
Chalit indicates movable or movement, while Bhav denotes dwelling. As a result, the Bhava Chalit chart shifts the dwellings around. When we build the Bhava Chalit chart related to the actual Lagna degree rather than the Rashi degrees, the house table moves.
The Rashi chart and the Bhav Chalit chart will be identical when the Lagna degree is near the middle of the Rashi itself, about 15 degrees. When the Lagna degree is far from the Rashi’s midpoint, the Bhava Chalit Chart makes a significant difference.
Calculating The Bhava Chalit Chart
There are multiple ways to calculate the same item in Vedic astrology, as with most concepts. It’s no different with the Bhava Chalit chart. There are two schools of thought on how to calculate this chart using the Equal House Method.
- The Bhav Madhya, or middle of the house, is determined by the Lagna degree.
- Using the Lagna degree as the house’s starting point
The first approach is the most widely used. The Lagna degree is used as the center of the Bhav or house in this manner. Because each house has a 30-degree span, we place the Lagna degree in the middle and then redraw the houses with the start 15 degrees before the Lagna degree and the end 15 degrees after the Lagna degree. We’ll see that some planets may transfer to the next or previous house as a result of this.
Another approach, known as the unequal house method, calculates the degree span of each home using the latitude and longitude of the birth place. During my years of expertise in the field of Vedic astrology, I focused on this Chalit-Chakra; most of the time, it worked wonders, and its working was checked and researched from time to time. Finally, the authenticity of Chalit-Chakra was established, and it was concluded that ignoring Chalit-Chakra in Vedic astrology would be a huge mistake.
Let’s take a quick look at Chalit-Chakra. A Bhava begins at aarambh sandhi (beginning point) and concludes at viram sandhi (resting point), with Bhava Madhya (the strongest point of a Bhava) located in between these two sandhi. The planet ruling the sign in which this Bhava Madhya occurs is the lord of that Bhava. When two Bhava Madhya appear in a single sign, that planet becomes the governor of both bhava, and when no Bhava Madhya appears in a sign, that planet loses its lordship over that Bhava.
Planets with aarambh sandhi or less move to the previous Bhava, whereas planets with viram sandhi or more move to the next Bhava. Despite this, many more concerns arise while examining Chalit-Chakra, such as whether planets in a single sign travel to the previous and next Bhava, whether planets in a single sign migrate to the same Bhava, and so on. In rashi, a planet receiving aspect from another planet loses that aspect when it moves to either the previous or next Bhava; in rashi chart, any planet does not receive aspect from another planet; however, in Chalit-Chakra, this planet comes under the aspect of another planet, and many other questions about Chalit-Chakra arise.
Under some circumstances, it has also been noticed that Chalit-Chakra stops giving results and Rashi Chart becomes powerful enough to deliver outcomes.
