The majority of astrologers are self-taught and refine their talents over time. You might, however, pursue an astrological degree or take classes to learn more about the zodiac signs, planetary placements, and other related topics.
Is there a school where you can learn about astrology?
In March 2000, the Washington State Higher Education Coordinating (HEC) Board granted Kepler College provisional license to grant degrees while the school pursued regional or national accreditation, which is required to maintain degree-granting status.
Many academics protested the HEC Board’s decision because of Kepler’s focus on astrology. The HEC Board’s approval was dubbed “ludicrous” by a University of Washington official, who compared the study of astrology to “quack medicine.” In a Boston Herald editorial, John Silber, chancellor of Boston University, said that the institution’s proponents “honored Kepler not for his greatness but for his weakness, as if a society supporting drinking named a school after Ernest Hemingway.” Silber also mentioned, “The truth is that astrology is nonsense, whether measured by its theory or its practice. In a free society, there is no reason why people who want to learn nonsense shouldn’t be able to locate teachers who want to make money teaching nonsense. It is, however, reprehensible for the government to certify nonsense teachers as competent or to allow (that is, condone) the awarding of nonsense degrees.”
In July 2000, Kepler College advertised itself as the Western Hemisphere’s sole university offering bachelor’s and master’s degrees in astrological studies, and 31 students registered for the inaugural semester. The majority of the material was available online, allowing students from all around the country to enroll as long as they were there in person for one week of the 11-week term.
The HEC Board terminated Kepler College’s license to issue degrees after it failed to attain the appropriate accreditation status by 2010. Following the loss of this authorization, Kepler evolved into an online credential program.
