How To Draw A Birth Chart By Hand

  • Birth details for the recipient: time, date, and location (as precisely as possible). Using this, you may create their birth chart online (see below).
  • a big sheet of paper
  • Whatever your favourite medium may be: pencils, pens, colors, or paint.
  • Having a drawing compass is helpful but not necessary.
  • An attractive frame for the paper (optional)

Online:

  • Astro DIY, in particular…
  • Your natal astrology chart (shows you how to actually generate a birth chart which you can then draw)
  • The 12 Signs of the Zodiac: Tabby’s interpretations of each sign’s significance
  • The Individual Planets (info about the relevance of sun and moon signs)
  • Four Elements
  • Astro.com (or another birth chart generator.)

How to create:

Do your research

Make a note of the recipient’s sun, moon, and rising signs using the aforementioned web tools. Consider the receiver and the astrological aspects about them that really speak to you. Remember that this is a gift, therefore concentrate on the truly inspiring information! What characteristics about you stand out? Consider coming up with

The four components in their graphic are added up. Which are more potent? What are the implications of this? Consider the individual once more and what these characteristics reveal about their unique talents or their values.

Draw the chart

Get the birth chart up on the screen so you can see it clearly in front of you. (If you can, a hardcopy would be extremely useful.)

If you have a compass, use it to draw a sizable circle.

The zodiac wheel looks like this. Using the 12 houses on the chart as a guide, divide the wheel into 12 equal pieces.

Em and I made shaky pencil sketches of this since we planned to eventually go over it all in pen.

Now, carefully mark each of the 12 zodiac signs’ positions on the chart by sketching the little symbols around the wheel in the order that they appear on their respective charts.

Add the personal information

Em and I decided to fill each of the four corners with a distinct piece of information: the Sun sign, the Moon sign, the Rising sign, and the Four Elements.

We each wrote a paragraph for one of the three signs explaining what it meant to Maggie and what aspects of her life it related to. We recorded the “scores” of the four elements so she could see which ones were more powerful and what that meant.

Putting it all on was a struggle! The secret is to plan out your writing in advance so that you can determine how much space you’ll need.

Decorate!

This is where the creativity really kicks in. You might want to add some color. For the sun sign, we used yellow and orange; for the moon, purple and blue; and for the rising signs, green. You are in charge!

Black pen was also used to go over our pencil markings. Personal preference once more. You could decide to start painting, collage, or leave it as a straightforward pencil or pen drawing at this point.

Em chose the lion depicted on The Wild Unknown Tarot’s Strength card because Maggie is a leo and we adored the lion’s bold, self-assured meaning. It was the ideal icing on the cake!

These are merely recommendations. This is a sentimental gift for a special someone, and you can personalize yours however you choose.

Can a birth chart be created without time?

You can still study your chart without a birth time if none of these solutions work, but you won’t be able to determine your ascendant or how the houses are aligned. Instead, you’ll concentrate on the planetary configurations and their interactions with one another. You only need your birthdate to complete this. Go to our website or the CHANI app. Fill out all the fields and choose 12 PM as the time of your birth. You can find the locations of all the planets from here (with the possible exception of the Moon, if it changed signs that day.) To find out what aspects (relationships) a planet is making with other planets, simply click on the planet that interests you.

Keep in mind that this method is only effective for learning about the planets in your chart. The ascending sign, house placements, as well as the MC, IC, and DC, must all be disregarded.

You can also designate your Sun to be the rising sign. Taking your Sun sign and writing your horoscope as if it were the 1st House is how popular astrological and magazine column horoscopes are actually written.

Google “What time was sunrise on your day of birth from your birth location” to do this. You will then be given a time that corresponds to the same rising sign as your sun sign. then visit our website or the CHANI app. Include your birthplace and date of birth in every field. If your rising sign and your sun sign aren’t the same for whatever reason, double-check your information and try adding or removing 5 minutes. That ought to solve the issue.

Although your horoscope will always be more accurate if you know your precise birth time, this method can still provide important details and is less arbitrary than choosing a random time.

Do birth charts follow a clockwise or anticlockwise direction?

The twelve divisions that make up the chart are referred to as the houses. The Ascendant, located in the center left of the wheel, is where the houses start. As you turn the chart counterclockwise, the numbers increase.

What do the arcs on a birth chart represent?

Okay, we’ve arrived! It’s finally time to solve the enigma surrounding astrological aspectsa moment that many of you have been waiting for. Many people have a solid understanding of the astrological signs, planets, and even houses, but they are unsure of the significance of and the meaning of the aspects in a birth chart.

A chart’s aspects are the angular connections that the planets make with one another and with other chart points like the Ascendant. Aspects are the way the planets interact in our birth charts; they can reveal a person’s characteristics in a way that a sign or house position alone cannot. As a result, they play a crucial role in understanding a chart.

Returning to the early Astro DIY analogy, we can consider the aspects as the conversation the players (the planets) are having with one another. The kind of component reveals the nature of their discourse and the tone they are adopting.

Reading aspects in the chart

You must memorize the angle or the distance in signs between each one in order to understand an aspect (for example, a square is three signs apart). Knowing your stuff inside and out might be helpful before diving into particulars. Ideally, you will be able to memorize the polarities (water and earth are harmonious, fire and air are harmonious), the elements and modes for each sign (for example, Taurus is Fixed Earth), as well as the signs that are opposite one another in the zodiac (eg. Aries and Libra). Being aware of this will make it simpler to identify an aspect; for instance, you’ll know that trines are always formed by planets in the same element, making them much easier to seek for.

Orbs

An orb is a circle with a radius of up to 10 around a planet’s position in astrology. The amount by which the two planets can depart from the precise number of degrees of the aspect and still be regarded as having an aspect effect is known as the permissible orb.

Once you’ve finished reading, return to this chart and try to identify one of each of the key components.

Where is my south node, please?

You can find a glyph (an astrological symbol) that resembles a horseshoe in your natal chart. The North Node is represented by that symbol. An upside-down horseshoe serves as the symbol for the South Node. You can circle those symbols once you locate them in your chart. They will always show up in the same degrees, opposing houses, and opposite signs. You can now grasp the karma and energy you’re working with since you know where their homes are. The signs display the taste, while the dwellings portray the general mood and plot.

  • First house north node and seventh house south node: Any karmic debts you may have will be made up in marriage or partnership, so good luck there! You may feel larger than life since your confidence is soaring. However, there’s a catch: You could not be giving relationships the attention they require.
  • the second house’s north node and the eighth house’s south node Your downfall may come from sex. Just a thought. To prevent feeling abused and burned out, be aware of how much time you’re providing to others. At all times, prioritize your needs.

How can I determine my precise birth time?

You should look for a copy of your birth certificate. The time of your birth should be recorded on a long form birth certificate. You’ll need to look farther if you don’t have a copy of your birth certificate.

Does astrology consider the time of birth?

Let’s begin by discussing the significance of your precise birth time in astrology in general. Your own adventure on earth starts when you are born and breathe for the first time, claims Gold Ring Astrology. Your spiritual journey also begins the moment you step foot in the human world, and it is also the time the fabric of your life’s story begins to take shape.

Birth timing is significant primarily for this reason. Your ascendant, or rising, signthe sign that was visible over the eastern horizon at the time of your birthis determined by the precise hour of your birth (via Mind Body Green). Your ascendant sign reflects both your worldview and how others perceive you (via Allure).

How are the houses on a birth chart read?

The ruling planet of the chart can also be found in the Ascendant. A person with a Sagittarius Ascendant, for example, lives in a world that is dominated by the bountiful Jupiter, whereas a person with a Pisces Ascendant is ruled by the compassionate Neptune.

The Ascendant is used not only to determine our unique terrain but also to design the unique structure of the chart. Birth charts are read counterclockwise, with the First House being defined by the horizontal line of the Ascendant. As we move up the chart’s sections, or Houses, we begin at the Descendent on the right side of the horizon and work our way up. The Twelfth House, which borders the Ascendant to the north, is where the cycle comes to a conclusion.

Where is my North Node located?

Launch the NUiT app, then select “Astrology” and “Birth Chart.” You may find “North Node” near the bottom of your placements in the Advanced section. Take note of the number that is there. Your North Node is housed in this building.
