What caused MADtv to be canceled?
“In recent years, there’s been a lot of curiosity,” said executive producer David Salzman. “A number of networks have expressed interest in the show after learning that it was coming from Fox.” We haven’t started talking to them yet, but now is the time to do so. I believe we have real chances, but anything can happen, especially in this environment.”
Production on “Mad TV,” which received a shorter order this season, was slated to end in December, according to Salzman. The network opted to inform the show’s creators of its decision now, rather than in May, so that they could close the series on a high note.
“This will offer us a befitting sendoff, as well as a chance to advertise the finale and bring back old cast members,” Salzman explained.
