There are 12 astrological signs in Western tropical astrology. Each of the four elements is connected with three Zodiac signs that are always exactly 120 degrees apart along the ecliptic and are said to be in trine with one another. The four classical elements (also called as triplicities) are still used extensively by most current astrologers, and they are still considered a crucial part of astrological chart interpretation.
Starting with Aries, which is a Fire sign, the next sign in order is Taurus, which is Earth, followed by Gemini, which is Air, and finally Cancer, which is Water. This cycle repeats twice more before ending with Pisces, the twelfth and final astrological sign. According to Marcus Manilius, the elemental rulerships for the twelve astrological signs of the zodiac are as follows:

Aries is a fire or an air sign.
Aries is the first fire sign of the zodiac, as well as the first sign altogether. They are active, impetuous, curious, direct, and nave at times. They’re born fighters who are intrinsically athletic and wired to fight, whether it’s for social justice, to beat their own half-marathon pace, or to “win” their point in a debate over which Netflix show is most deserving of a binge session. They’re the one who’ll bring up a controversial topic at a party in order to start a controversy. After all, Aries consider debate to be pure entertainment as long as they come out on top.
What makes Aries such a fiery sign?
The Ram represents the first sign of the astrological year, Aries. These people epitomize what it means to be a fire sign, as they are ruled by Mars, the planet of action, passion, war, and ambition.
Aries people are strong self-starters as a cardinal sign (or the sign that begins each season), but whether they follow through on their plans is another issue. Nonetheless, an Aries can be counted on to get things started and “bring everyone into action like a team captain or five-star general,” according to the twins.
Aries, like the Ram, is noted for being a headstrong sign. They must avoid adopting a “my-way-or-the-highway” attitude and compromise when it is necessary. These people, on the other hand, are fearless, empowered, and self-sufficient when their energy is balanced.
Is Aries an air sign?
Three zodiac signs make up each astrological element: fire signs Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius; earth signs Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn; air signs Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius; and water signs Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces.
What does compatibility mean for Aries?
Libra (opposites attract), Sagittarius, and Leo are the most compatible signs for Aries in friendship and romantic relationships (fellow fire signs will speak their same passionate language).
What do Aries have a problem with?
Pisces and Cancer are not compatible with Aries. Pisceans are extremely sensitive, and an Aries’ surprising nature could put them to the test. Cancers can be deeply offended by an Aries’ forthrightness, and there could be a fight over emotional demands. Capricorn is another sign that does not get along with Aries because they are overly regulated whereas Aries is spontaneous, causing conflicts between them.
Is Aries the newest zodiac sign?
ARIES is the zodiac’s newcomer. This is how it thinks “I am not frightened of anything, I am powerful, and I have everyone wrapped around my little finger! Adults will fulfill my request if I only start weeping louder!”
TAURUS is the zodiac’s youngest sign. It thinks like this: “these are the I want my parents to cuddle me and pay more attention to me! They should purchase me more toys if they want me to be happy and peaceful! Everything is mine, and I don’t share it!”
GEMINI is a two-year-old who is learning to speak. It thinks in this way: words are magicalI speak, and everyone enjoys it! The more intriguing ideas I have, the more attention I get! I may occasionally fabricate stories, but who knows what is true and what is not?
CANCER is the mature adolescent who wishes to be more autonomous but still devoted to his family. He thinks to himself, “I want you to spoil me while I do whatever I want!” Otherwise, I’ll become irritable! My home is my castle; I am well cared for within, but the world outside appears to be as fascinating…!
The adolescent is LEO. This is how he thinks: “I am of legal age to do whatever I want. I am young, attractive, and powerful; I know everything; others can either agree with me or get lost!”
VIRGO is the young adult who must begin to sustain himself or herself. Thinking style: “It’s not all about having a good time! To achieve, one must work hard!”
LIBRA is a human between the ages of 25 and 30 who thinks like this: “In life, one must choose a reliable relationship. My life will be more meaningful and enjoyable if I have a companion.”
After 28 years, SCORPIO reaches his age. This is the grownup who enjoys in-depth analysis and evaluations. Thinking style: “What will give my life more meaning? Perhaps it’s a genuine career or a genuine passion?”
SAGITTAIRUS is an adult who has accumulated the wisdom of his age and time, has taught many life lessons, and thinks more philosophically, but yet feels young! It’s the age of the mid-life crisis, when the urge for independence grows and concessions become more difficult. Thinking style: “Life goes on, and new chances are constantly on the horizon! It’s important to keep dreaming and setting objectives for oneself!”
CAPRICORN is a serious adult in his or her prime who seeks for societal stability since he or she believes old age is approaching. Thinking style: “A man is defined by his accomplishments. Ambition and determination are requiredthere is no room for regret!”
AQUARIUS is an adult who has gained many life lessons and let go of many illusions. Thinking style: “Love is an illusion, but friendship lasts a lifetime. Everything else is vanity; I want to be surrounded by people who share my interests and goals.”
PISCES is a man nearing the end of his earthly existence who has recognized that spiritual things are more important than physical ones. What are your thoughts: “There is no such thing as a saint without a history or a sinner without a future. Even if I know all the tactics in the book, only love, honesty, and compassion can preserve my soul and offer me happiness!”
Is it possible to have two fire signs together?
Signs belonging to the same element are often compatible, therefore the fire signs of Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius are all ideal matches. Couples from outside your element might offer extra zing – the Air and Fire signs complement each other well. They both have an outgoing personality that keeps the relationship going.
What are the zodiac signs of air?
There are a few different ways to gain access to zodiacal knowledge. The most obvious method is to learn about planets, aspects, and houses based on your own narcissistic discoveries through the lens of your own birth chart. This is a perfectly valid route. I’ve completed the task. It’s happened to me, my crushes, and my famous crushes. I was ten years old and anxious to figure out how Gerard Way, the lead singer of My Chemical Romance, and I could finally make it work. One of the touchstones of my current astrological understanding was that romantic desperation.
If I could start over, I would start with the elements, the most fundamental concepts. The 12 zodiac signs are split into four elements in Western astrology: air, water, fire, and earth. Each has its own characteristics and associations, which are included in diverse ways by the three signs an element rules.
You’ll have a good knowledge of every sign if you comprehend the ingredients. This will give you access to the full wheel of the zodiac. The planets in each sign become (kind of) easy to imagine from there. Even compatibility, which we’ll discuss later, becomes more straightforward. Earth and water coexist, fire and air coexist, water extinguishes fire, air hovers above the earth… It’s like playing Pokmon or Rock, Paper, Scissors on a cosmic scale.
Of course, it was an air sign who first introduced me to this ingenious strategy. Air signs are both communicative and intellectual. They specialize on the ephemeral, or things that do not have a physical form, and this is especially true of language and information. The air element represents our breath, the most basic and unseen function of our bodies. Instead of being a traditional element in the Chinese zodiac, air becomes qi, the ultimate power that pervades everything. The Air represents the East on a Wiccan altar and can be symbolized by anything from a feather to incense; the Air is untouchable and immaterial because it has no tangible material form, even in worship.
Air signals are especially subject to their own personal projections because they are formless and lack a physical body. Air signs are boundless by space and can drift anywhere, from places to people; as a result, they’re prone to excessive fantasizing. They prefer theory to practice and can become engrossed in continually thinking or talking about something rather than implementing it.
Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius are the three air signs. For the time being, consider each of them to symbolize a distinct stage of emotional and spiritual development Gemini is the first sign of the zodiac calendar, and Aquarius is the last, making it the most mature. So, in Gemini, we have a newborn, naive variation on air; in Libra, we have a teenager who wants to try everything; and in Aquarius, we have a cantankerous, old soul.
The twins are GEMINI. I believe that the things we dislike the most in ourselves are the qualities that zodiac signs have the worst reputations for, and poor Gemini is a constant victim of that unjust slander. In Paprika, one of my favorite movies, a minor character transforms into a villain, splitting into dual heads and rupturing his seam with cerulean butterflies. “I never knew this side of you!” exclaims the heroine, horrified. “I have many sides,” our doppelganger responds, “and that’s what makes me human!”
All of that bullshit about Geminis being two-faced liars is true, but we all do it to some extent. Code-switching has reached its pinnacle. It’s “turning on” for work, having a “phone voice,” and avoiding the topic of your kinky sex life at the dinner table with your Evangelical grandfather. Our identities are transient and in constant motion; Gemini simply embraces this natural duality a little more forcefully and openly than the rest of us.
What are my constituents?
Triplicities were more of a seasonal nature in ancient astrology, therefore a season was given the attributes of an element, and the signs connected with that season were assigned to that element.
The following are the seasonal elements of ancient astrology:
The changes in expression across indications of the same element are explained using seasonal features. By definition, all fire indications are hot and dry. The inclusion of the season’s elemental qualities, however, causes variances amongst the fire signs. Spring sign Aries is wet (hot & dry, hot & wet), midsummer sign Leo gets a double dosage of hot and dry and is the pure fire sign, and autumn sign Sagittarius is colder (hot & dry, cold & dry).
Although these linkages are prevalent in current Western ceremonial magic, reconstructionist neopagan systems such as neodruidism, and Wicca, they are not given much weight in modern astrology.
