The fact that Aries Gold watches have excellent characteristics for the price is maybe the most compelling factor. The brand offers watches with sapphire crystal and trustworthy Japanese (Miyota/Seiko) automatic movements for as little as S$200. Needless to say, this is far superior to an MVMT fashion watch with a toughened mineral crystal and a generic quartz movement that costs the same amount.
If you’re looking for a chronograph, the Aries Gold Jolter comes with a Miyota 6S50 mecha-quartz movement and a large date complication. For those unfamiliar with mechanical chronographs, a mecha-quartz movement essentially combines the best of both worlds: the accuracy (and affordability) of a quartz movement (which also eliminates the need to wind the watch) with the sweeping second hand of a mechanical chronograph. Mecha-quartz chronographs are normally priced between $300 and $500 USD, making the Aries Gold Jolter which costs S$190 the most affordable mecha-quartz chronograph available.
There’s even free international shipping (taxes included), so if you live outside of the United States, you won’t have to worry about extra shipping charges, which can be rather high given the current COVID scenario.

How do I pick a gold timepiece?
“I recommend paying attention to the gold markings and any additional gold stamps that are normally located on the inside of the watch case.” Some of Ross’s favorite gold designs are from Rolex, Rado, Omega, and Oris, particularly rarer, unusual designs that require a little more exploring.
Is it true that Aries Gold is a Singaporean brand?
CK Woo, a Singaporean watchmaker, launched Aries Gold in 1970. Prior to launching the company, he created a name for himself by providing watch customization services. After that, he started Aries Gold with the money he saved from providing those services. Aries Gold is still a family business today, with CK’s sons Elijah and James in charge of the day-to-day operations. Aries Gold watches are also created, prototyped, and constructed in Singapore (Aries Gold has its own local workshop and staff of watchmakers), and they have a substantial international presence (their watches are sold in 15 countries). Despite the fact that there are many of local watch companies, the majority of Singaporean microbrands outsource their manufacturing and assembly to Shenzhen, China. There’s no shame in it (even huge Swiss companies have crucial components made in China), but it does highlight how unique it is for Aries Gold to have their own local supply chain. When you buy an Aries Gold watch, you’re supporting a local team of designers, watchmakers, and entrepreneurs, not a Chinese factory. Knowing that information warms the cockles of my heart, to use a phrase from a particular local politician.
On an Aries Gold watch, how can you change the date?
The date may not update properly if this is not done. If you need to set the date during that time frame, change the time to any time outside of it, set the date, and then change the time back to the correct time.
Is it worthwhile to invest in a gold timepiece?
These watches are typically worn by the wealthy. Silver and other metal timepieces are popular among budget watch purchasers. Gold luxury watches, on the other hand, are more than just a financial investment. Budget watches are also available. These timepieces are worth your time and money for a variety of reasons. Here’s a long list of advantages that can persuade you to buy one of these wonderful timepieces.
Elegance and distinction
Most purchasers like gold timepieces because they offer a sense of exclusivity and elegance. Given the high cost of gold watches, not everyone can afford one. As a result, you have the chance to stand out at any event. In essence, your watches make you the center of attention at every event. They enhance your originality while also enhancing your outfit. Even casual jeans could seem smart and timeless with these watches. Not to add, a formal ensemble can elevate your persona to new heights.
Higher longevity
The majority of people believe that a gold or gold-plated watch is delicate. Gold is a ductile and malleable metal. As a result, watches constructed of this yellow metal are likely to wear out soon. That is not the case, however. When it comes to creating these gorgeous watches, well-known brands take great care. They use cutting-edge technology to produce clocks that will survive for years. Once purchased, you may be able to enjoy your watch’s company for the rest of your life.
Versatile
Take a peek at several common timepieces. They aren’t appropriate for all occasions. You might want to have a variety of timepieces for different occasions. Those timepieces, however, may fall short of enhancing your personality. On the other hand, gold clocks are adaptable. They are appropriate for both formal and informal occasions. Gold watches have a classy appearance that attracts everyone’s attention in any setting. A timepiece like this may dress up a casual ensemble and give you a distinct look.
Trendy
Many individuals nowadays are interested in fashion. Fashion, on the other hand, is a fast-paced industry. What is fashionable today may become obsolete tomorrow. This holds true for watches as well. With the changes in vogue, you’ll need to purchase new timepieces. It can occasionally hurt your wallet as well as upsetting your busy schedule for purchasing. Gold watches are really fashionable. They are always in style. Whether the current fashion trend favors traditional or contemporary designs, these timepieces keep you looking stylish at all times.
Enriches status
People are more aware of their social standing and places. They pay meticulous attention to every aspect that could help them advance socially. They spend enough money on numerous goods to boost their self-esteem. Gold and status are inextricably linked. Gold watches may instantly boost your self-esteem and status. Simply choose an appropriate watch from a reputable retailer. As a result, you will have a higher social rank.
Holds value
Ordinary wristwatches are worthless. With time, they lose their luster and value. It’s possible that you’ll have to give away your old timepieces for free. Even if you keep the watch in good condition, it will only be worth a few dollars. Gold watches, on the other hand, hold their worth and gleam for a long time. All it requires is a little care and maintenance on your part. You could even be able to obtain a decent price for your old timepiece.
Should you invest in a gold timepiece?
There are certain things to consider if you wish to pay attention to some broad principles before making a decision. One of the most important factors to consider is the type of watch you want and how you want to wear it.
Purpose and type of watch
Gold watches are often thought to be more elegant and tasteful than stainless steel watches. Gold watches, on the other hand, are most strongly linked with dress timepieces. If you want to seem elegant, you’ll need a watch that suits your outfit.
On a side point, stainless steel is more closely connected with sportiness and casualness than gold because it is a more strong and sporty (and obviously more inexpensive) material. With this in mind, gold-plated sports watches are available, for example. What are your thoughts on this? The truth is that the way we wear watches has changed dramatically over the years, and many individuals now wear their sports watches to formal occasions as well. Consider the Rolex Submariner, which is one of the most popular (and versatile) timepieces, indicating that many people also wear them with suits.
On the same subject, the Rolex Submariner is also available in gold, which naturally makes it more elegant and hence slightly more acceptable for formal events. To put it another way, you may wear sports watches to formal occasions as well, but bear in mind that if you want to take your style to the next level, go for gold, even if it’s in the same sporty execution and model. Dress watches are no longer the only form of watch that may be worn with a suit.
This is simply a general rule, but if you’re deciding between gold and steel, keep in mind that gold is more elegant than steel, and then think about how you’ll be wearing your watch.
Dress watches gold or steel?
Now, if you’re looking for a dress watch, you have the option of choosing between gold and steel. Dress watches are now available in a variety of metals, including gold and steel. With that stated, you’re not bound by the rule that if you wear a dress watch, it must be gold at all times. This isn’t the case at all. Not any longer, at least.
Instead, if you want a dress watch, you’ll have to think about other things when it comes to metal selection.
Think about your personality
Gold watches have a reputation for being flashy, which they are to some extent. Gold shines brightly on the wrist and is difficult to miss, making it far more apparent than stainless steel.
Gold watches, in our opinion, have a place in a watch collector’s collection, but they aren’t necessary a watch that can be worn at any time. This is why, if you only own one watch, we recommend getting one that is made of steel.
On the other hand, if you have a collection with a few pieces in various styles, there is nothing wrong with owning a gold watch because there are times when gold is the perfect option.
The “problem” with gold watches is that they can be viewed as obnoxious if worn inappropriately, which can convey negative signals to those around you. Obviously, you should be able to wear whatever you want whenever you want, but whether you like it or not, you must adjust to the reality around you, or at the very least, be conscious of the signals you send out and how they affect people’s perceptions of you.
For example, if you are wearing a gold watch and are in the middle of a negotiation, it may work against you because it gives the appearance that you already have a lot of money and hence can afford to pay more, as in a contract. Wearing a gold watch, on the other hand, may be advantageous in a variety of settings, such as while negotiating with “big dogs” who are also wearing gold watches, or if you have a meeting with a bank. The key is that you need to know what situation you’ll be in before deciding whether or not wearing a gold watch would help or hurt you.
If you think a gold watch would be harmful to you, go for a steel, platinum, or white gold watch instead, which will be more covert and unobtrusive. If, on the other hand, you decide that a gold watch is appropriate, then go ahead and get one. Also, keep in mind that a gold watch with a gold bracelet will stand out far more than a gold watch with a leather strap. With that said, you may be able to wear a gold watch with a leather strap in specific instances, but not with a complete gold bracelet.
You should also examine the style and size of a gold watch while purchasing one. A current gold watch, such as a Rolex Daytona, will stand out and attract attention right away, whilst a vintage gold watch, such as a Rolex Day-Date, will be much more understated. If you have an ancient watch, you can simply mention that you inherited it if you need to explain yourself (which can happen depending on the situation in which you wear it).
To put it another way, it’s not just about gold or steel; it’s also about the style of watch that’s appropriate for the occasion.
People who know you will not be surprised to find you wearing a gold watch if your personality is a little flamboyant. Consider the number of rappers who only wear gold timepieces.
Gold is more sensitive
It’s also worth noting that gold is a softer material than steel, making it more sensitive. As a result, compared to a steel watch, it will accumulate more scratches and dents. As a result, think about how you intend to wear your watch. If you buy a gold watch with the intention of wearing it as a sports watch while engaging in a variety of strenuous and demanding activities, it may not be the best choice. At least not if you want it to stay in good shape.
As a result, gold watches are not recommended for high-intensity events or sports.
What about the price?
When it comes to watches made of real gold, there is a significant price difference between steel and gold watches. However, there are several watches available today that have a gold finish but are not constructed of genuine gold. As a result, everyone can appreciate the elegance of gold watches today without having to spend tens of thousands of dollars on one, therefore this isn’t an issue. Keep in mind, however, that if you want a watch from a high-end brand, you won’t be able to locate one that isn’t made of genuine gold, and as a result, it will be more expensive.
Conclusion
The bottom line is that gold watches are best suited for formal situations in general. Steel watches may be worn for both formal and casual situations, however gold watches cannot always be worn for both formal and casual occasions. Perhaps most essential, consider the situation you’ll be in and how others may or may not react when you’re wearing it. Will the gold watch cause you damage or benefit you?
Remember, there’s a big difference between a loud and showy gold watch like a Rolex Submariner or Rolex Daytona and a classic and elegant gold dress watch like a Jaeger-LeCoultre or a Zenith with a leather strap. True dress watches are designed to be subtle, elegant, and complementary to your personal style. As a result, they may be worn for every formal occasion and scenario because they are not obtrusive.
How do you make the date change at 12 a.m.?
It’s simple to fix this. All you have to do now is turn your watch’s hour hand for another 12 hours (which is 12 hours ahead). So, if it’s 2 p.m., spin the hour hand forward 12 hours until it displays 2 p.m. again. If it’s 11:30 a.m., turn it all the way around to 11:30 a.m. once again.
What is the procedure for setting a watch?
1. Take your watch from your wrist.
Wearing your watch while winding and setting it is not recommended. If you leave your watch on, you risk harming the internal components and maybe loosening the crown by winding it at an odd angle.
2. Manually wound your watch to re-start it.
If you haven’t worn your mechanical watch in a long time, you’ll want to thoroughly wind it before setting the time. To wind your watch, remove the crown and turn it clockwise until resistance is felt. When you feel this, your watch is properly wound, and over-winding it could cause damage.
3. Decide on a date.
The crown on mechanical watches usually has three positions, each of which is assigned to a particular winding function. The crown is simply unscrewed in the first position (as explained in the previous step) for manually winding your watch. To easily change the date on the watch, pull the crown to the second position. Turn the crown clockwise until the correct date appears.
4. To set the time, completely extend the crown.
Simply pull the crown out to the furthest position from the watch base to set the time. The second hand stops when the crown is in this position, allowing you to set the time properly.
5. Change the time on your watch to AM or PM.
Wind the crown clockwise until you see the date begin to change to see if the time is set to AM or PM. This means it’s getting close to midnight, and your watch is set to PM.
6. Make a timer.
Turn the crown clockwise (or away from you) until the time is set properly. If you go over your target time, don’t spin the crown backwards to go back. The movement of the watch will be forced and damaged if the crown is turned counter-clockwise. Instead, you’ll have to keep winding clockwise until you reach the proper time.
7. Re-insert the crown.
Replace the crown in its “zero” position at the watch’s base. The crown is then screwed in place to ensure that it is pressurized and watertight.
