It is the 31st closest star system and the closest solitary white dwarf to the sun, at only 14.1 light-years distant. (The practice of naming a star appears to date back many years.)
Surprisingly, the Hubble Space Telescope discovered a pair of dwarf galaxies dubbed Pisces A and Pisces B within the constellation.
