The Age of Pisces has impacted human history for over 2000 years, and the Age of Aquarius is gradually taking its place. There is no clear agreement among astrologers on when the Age of Pisces began, and even less on when it will conclude. But one thing is certain: the transition between these two astrological epochs has already begun, and one of its most significant elements is the centuries-long conflict between science and religion that has shaped the evolution of human society.
The Age of Pisces marks a period in human history when people were more interested than ever in things of the soul. Human transcendence, self-dissolution, and connectedness to a greater ideal all crystallized in the communal consciousness and took diverse forms. The birth of Jesus Christ, the creation of the church, and the establishment of a single fundamental religion are just a few of the major events of this period that continue to influence human existence today.
The energy of Pisces offered forgiveness, empathy, innocence, love, and commitment to life. It established a belief in a higher power and a need to connect to something bigger than oneself. The storming of the Bastille in 1789 represents the bursting of chains (represented by Pisces) and the revolt against the old authoritarian rule. It was also in the 16th century that the concept of atheism first appeared, and hostility to traditional religious structures grew stronger.
Simultaneously, science has progressed at a quicker rate each year, and has radically altered societal structures. Machines were made possible by technological advancements, the internet opened up a world of new possibilities for social connections, social media fundamentally changed the way humans interact, and globalization may be one of the most significant characteristics of this period.
Furthermore, communal thought and technological innovation are aiding in the struggle against social and economic inequality, and the fight for freedom of speech and identity has allowed for greater diversity and acceptance.
However, the fight for liberty comes at a cost. Disorder, rebellion, rule-breaking, skepticism, and the “change above everything” mentality are all aspects of the aquarian age. The contemporary rise of progressive thought has spawned a countercurrent of conservatism, bigotry, and religious fanaticism, and the fixation with technological innovation has had severe implications in our culture.
Finally, the shift from the Age of Pisces to the Age of Aquarius symbolizes a conflict between two opposing systems: development vs. tradition, mind vs. soul, or God vs. machine. But it also signifies the promise of connecting the spiritual to the communal, a time when the desire for transcendence and divine connection transcends barriers of identification, ethnicity, color, and social standing, allowing all mankind to experience the eternal global link.

Those who practice mundane astrology may attest to the fact that history does, in fact, repeat itself. My in-depth research over the last thirty years has found incredibly detailed similarities between the history of human progress on our planet and the astrological ages. I discovered an intriguing concept of history from anastrological standpoint by investigating the smaller ‘cycleswithin cycles’ included in each2160-year era. This post is based on the conclusions of my in-depth investigation, which are contained in my book, Signs of the Times: The End of the World and the Coming Golden Age. It indicates that history backs up astrology’s accuracy. This model also provides insight into our existing circumstances as well as prospects for the near and long term.
The astrological ages are based on the precession of the equinoxes and the rearward wobbling of the planet’s axis as seen through the constellations, which are arranged in a circle around the world along the ecliptic, or equator belt. The wobbling of the earth’s axis as the North Pole points down towards and marks each age or constellation in succession is used to calculate ages. This wobble takes 25,920 years to complete, and there are twelve ages of 2,160 years each in one entire cycle. We are currently in the’Age of Pisces,’ with that marker pointing to the constellation Pisces. As the earth’s axis wobbles in a precessional or backward manner through the zodiac, these ages flow backward through the astrological signs. In addition to this progression through the signs, history shows that the signs opposite the principal signs have a significant impact on each age’s history.
Within each age, there are additional shorter cycles. Within each 2160-year age, there is a cycle of twelve smaller periods, which I refer to as’eras,’ each of which contains 180 years. Within each era, there is a cycle of twelve periods, which I refer to as ‘phases,’ each lasting 15 years. Eras and phases denote minor evolutionary cycles inside the broader cycle, yet they travel in a forward manner through the zodiac for some reason. Within the same astrological system, time appears to flow both forward and backward. These shorter durations allow for more precise dating of the astrological ages, indicating that the Western Gregorian calendar is in fact linked with these times. Because the symbolism of the erasand phases precisely fits the time of historical events, the period recognized as 0 BC is actually an accurate beginning to the Age of Pisces.
My extensive research into historical events dating back to the Age of Cancer discovered a recurring pattern. Each age is preceded by a build-up stage, sometimes known as the birthing process. During the Scorpio Era, approximately 900 to 720 years previous to the conclusion of the age, a transition occurs that brings to the fore historical processes that take humanity into the next age.
