1. How would you characterize yourself in one sentence?
Romain Virgo is a Jamaican reggae performer from St. Ann. I’m now based in Kingston, the epicenter of reggae music. I believe that music is my life, and that it is this that defines my success.
2. How long have you been making music?
I’ve been singing since I was a child. But I believe that a choir competition in Jamaica called All Together Sing, a high school choir competition, gave me a break. I competed in a show called Rising Stars in 2006, which is akin to American Idol. In 2007, I was the winner. I’ve been recording music with some producers in Jamaica since then. Donovan Germain and a few more renowned Jamaican producers. My first song, or at least my first significant song, was most likely called “Feel Good Riddim’s “Mi Caan Sleep” I now have two albums out and am working on a third.
