Leo Chenal made the decision to declare for the 2022 NFL Draft soon after the Las Vegas Bowl following an outstanding junior season with the Wisconsin Badgers.
The former Wisconsin linebacker’s choice paid off on Friday when the Kansas City Chiefs took him with the 103rd overall pick in the third round of the draft.
Although he is not anticipated to be the only pick from Wisconsin this weekend, the inside linebacker was the first.
Chenal led Wisconsin with 115 tackles and 18.5 tackles for loss last season, in addition to eight sacks, two forced fumbles, and first-team unanimous All-Big Ten recognition.

Nelson grabbed attention during Wisconsin’s pro day with his impressive 40-yard sprint time of 4.38 and 39.5-inch vertical leap.

The Madison native realized a lifelong dream on Saturday when he was chosen in the 2022 NFL Draft. With pick 129 in the fourth round, the Dallas Cowboys selected Ferguson.
The adored tight end is the third Wisconsin selection of the weekend, after the selections of Logan Bruss by the Los Angeles Rams and Leo Chenal by the Kansas City Chiefs.
Ferguson concluded his career at Wisconsin with 145 receptions for 1,618 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns, earning first-team All-Big Ten honors from the coaches.
