Diablo III’s Obsidian Ring of the Zodiac is a legendary ring. To drop, you must have a character level of 50. It was a season-only drop until it was updated for Season Three (patch 2.2.0), but it now drops for all characters.
For each damaging strike that costs resource (Hatred exclusively for Demon Hunters; expending Discipline will not trigger the affix), the unique affix triggers once per cast (once per tick for channeled skills) and decreases the cooldown of one currently recharging skill by one second. For builds that rely on long-recharging talents like Archon, Earthquake, Wrath of the Berserker, or Akarat’s Champion, this ring is highly effective.
This effect will not be triggered by skills that have had their usual resource cost removed for any reason, whether by a skill rune, a Channeling Pylon, or an item bonus. Blessed Shield, for example, will not benefit from a cooldown reduction if Gyrfalcon’s Foote is on, as the item bonus reduces the skill’s Wrath cost.
It’s one of the rare legendary items with seven abilities. Prior to Patch 2.1, it was known for simultaneously increasing all core stats and giving all resistances a guaranteed benefit.

Puzzle Ring drops at what level?

Is Obsidian a real thing?
obsidian is an igneous rock that forms as a natural glass when viscous lava from volcanoes cools quickly. Obsidian has a chemical makeup that is similar to rhyolite and is exceptionally rich in silica (approximately 65 to 80 percent). Obsidian is slightly tougher than window glass and has a glassy sheen. Though obsidian is usually jet-black in color, the presence of hematite (iron oxide) results in red and brown variants, and the presence of small gas bubbles can result in a golden sheen. Diablo III’s cooldown is a statistic. The notion was first presented in Diablo II, under the name Casting Delay.
It made a comeback in Diablo III, and it’s a limit on how many times a skill can be used. A ability that has a large impact on the battlefield, in addition to the usual expenditures, requires a small amount of time to cool down. This was implemented to prevent heroes from gaining complete control of the battlefield. This modification permitted boosts to the effects of the talents that were affected, justifying the minor time cooldown.
While the majority of skills have no cooldown or have a cooldown of 6 to 30 seconds, the most powerful skills can have cooldowns of 60, 90, 120, or even 180 seconds. Longer cooldowns are quite uncommon.
After a skill is used, it may have no cooldown (the speed with which it can be used is only restricted by the character’s or monster’s resources and attack speed), or it may take a certain amount of time to recharge before it can be used again. A grayed region on the skill symbol, which decreases clockwise as the cooldown approaches its finish, graphically indicates this time. The button briefly flashes to clearly show when the cooldown is reset or expires.
Although certain cooldown-independent setups exist, cooldown management is an important component of gameplay. It can (and should) be lowered in a variety of ways:
- Simple passive skills, items, and sets that reduce the cooldown of all skills by a percentage. It’s worth noting that they stack with other modifiers in a multiplicative way, adding to the stat in question. Evocation, Captain Crimson’s Trimmings, for example.
- Simple passive skills that reduce the cooldown of specific skills for a given number of seconds. Bul-boon, Kathos’s for example.
- Skill Runes and Items that reduce, eliminate, or add cooldown to specific skills. Aether Walker’s Archon rune “Pure Power” is an example (removes cooldown of Teleport and replaces it with Arcane Power cost).
- All cooldowns can be reduced by up to 12.5 percent with diamonds in the helm socket (25 percent with Leoric’s Crown).
- Respective affix can be found on gloves, amulets, rings, pauldrons, off-hand items (up to 8%), and weapons (up to 10 percent ). Some Legendary Items can reduce the cooldowns of specific talents even further, such as Gesture of Orpheus, which reduces the cooldown of Slow Time by 30-40%.
- Vadim’s Surge, Slipka’s Letter Opener, and Hillenbrand’s Training Sword are legendary Follower items that reduce the cooldowns of the Followers’ skills by half.
- When triggered, items, runes, and talents lower the remaining cooldowns by X seconds. Grave Injustice, Rally, In-Geom, Obsidian Ring of the Zodiac, Trag’Oul Coils, Messerschmidt’s Reaver are only a few examples.
- Passive effects that immediately remove existing cooldowns, regardless of how much time is left. Illusionist is a good example.
- Channeling and an Empowered Shrine For the duration, Pylon reduces all cooldowns by half and three quarters, respectively. Pylon also resets any currently active cooldowns.
Reduced cooldown time has a finite number of benefits. There are various setups that specialize on keeping long-recharging spells cooldowns low, but for most classes, the truly achievable ceiling is about 72-75 percent (84.5-88.5 percent with Leoric’s Crown).
Some talents, such as Unstable Anomaly, have no cooldown and instead apply a debuff that may be seen on the panel. Unless otherwise specified, these cooldowns may never be shortened.
It’s worth noting that the cooldown duration is set when the skill is utilized. After the talent is used, equipping items that reduce cooldowns by X% will have no impact. Temporary effects that lower cooldowns, on the other hand, will influence the ones that are presently recharging by making them recharge faster for as long as they last.
The cooldowns of items-triggered skills are frequently distinct from the cooldowns of similar skills wielded by the player, if any.
Cooldowns usually begin right when the skill is activated, not after the benefit has worn off. This includes skills like Archon’s shapeshifting. However, some talents, particularly ones that offer damage immunity, such as Serenity, Smoke Screen, or Spirit Walk, will only begin their cooldown once they have finished, in order to prevent characters from gaining permanent immunity.
It’s also worth noting that cooldowns keep recharging even if the character is dead. Before the skill effect disappears, it is possible to lower the cooldown to zero using legal means. Critical Mass for Wizards, a passive skill, was so powerful for that purpose that it was removed from the game entirely.
Cooldown reduction isn’t included in the damage sheet statistic, although it can sometimes be used to calculate effective damage per second.
The cooldown decrease has no effect on the cooldowns of item special effects (such as the Firebird’s Finery set bonus), unless otherwise noted. Furthermore, all passive skills that prevent a hero from dying (Unstable Anomaly, Near Death Experience, Spirit Vessel, and so on) have no way of reducing their cooldowns.
Charged skills, such as Dashing Strike, recharge faster and benefit from the cooldown reduction as well.
The potion cooldown of 30 seconds is not affected by the cooldown reduction; the Blood Flask Necromancer skill rune is the only ability in the game that can lessen it.
What is the location of the ring of royal grandeur?
In Diablo III, the Ring of Royal Grandeur is a Legendary ring. It can only be gained from Horadric Caches from Act I or IV, and it requires character level 12 to drop. It’s worth noting that it has a far lower drop rate than other Cache-only Legendary items.
