Mikasa lost all inhibitions as Eren began to lose consciousness and sprang at their assailant, stabbing him in the heart and murdering him.
When Dr. Yeager and the MPs arrived, he took Eren aside and scolded him furiously for his rash behavior. Eren expressed genuine regret for offending his father, but he had no guilt for executing the robbers. Eren handed Mikasa the scarf from his neck when she said she was chilly, and when Dr. Yeager welcomed Mikasa to live with them from then on, Eren accepted her without hesitation, tugging on her sleeve and shyly demanding that they return home.
