I got to thinking about zodiac signs for Banana Fish characters since I was bored. (Merely so you know, these are just based on characteristics that are typically associated with particular sun signs; I know astrology is based on lot more than that.) Here it is:

They are frequently rather obtuse as well. Fun fact: Hironobu Nomura, the actor who served as the inspiration for Eiji’s manga design, was born on May 3rd and is a Taurus.
3) Shorter: Exceptionally nice, loyal, and caring. concerns for everyone. over all, family. He swiftly clung to Eiji, shielding him as they dove into the Hudson, and vowed to sacrifice his own life to keep Eiji safe. Some saw it as him developing feelings for Eiji, but in my opinion it was him recognizing how significant Eiji was to Ash and that if he is significant to Ash, he is also significant to Shorter. 4) Alex: Aquarius, the opposite of Leo, is the cool, composed antithesis to Ash’s fiery side.
5) Max: A huge kid with a big personality, Max is laid-back and quickly gets angry. He prioritizes his interests over his obligations. Conclusion: Sagittarius
6) Ibe: Generous, welcoming of many types of people (even if he is a little skeptical of them like he was with Ash), goes with the flow of things, and is prone to being fairly nave (Eiji lied to him/hid stuff HOW many times??). Conclusion: Pisces.
7) Yut-Lung: A competitive diva who grew bored after defeating his adversaries and achieving his goals, so he made new foes and new objectives. Conclusion: Aries
8) Blanca: This one was difficult for me. Because of his aversion to commitment, I initially assumed Sagittarius, but he doesn’t have the fiery mentality that Fire Signs are known for. He is incredibly endearing, infuriatingly neutral, and masterful at disguising himself. 11) Arthur: Arthur had the makings of a great leader and was cunning, but his resentments and grievances ultimately brought him to ruin. To me, that sounds like a Scorpio.
Lao (12): Another challenging one. He is devoted and more adept at following directions than taking the initiative, but he does have a bossy tendency. Despite his good intentions, he believes that he knows Sing’s needs better than Sing does. Conclusion: Virgo
Some characters whose traits I wasn’t able to discern clearly were skipped. Additionally, I didn’t include characters like Golzine, Marvin, or Foxx because they lack true personality. They are simply awful. Beyond how bad they are, there is nothing to them.
