Hercules crushed the crab to death by stepping on it with the power of his great strength.
Hera was responsible for honoring the crab by putting a picture of it among the stars in the Cancer constellation.

Most modern people consider gods, particularly pagan gods, to be superstitions from the past. According to one explanation, humans in ancient times couldn’t explain natural occurrences like the Sun’s movement, so they conjured up the idea that a god was driving a chariot. This point of view is legitimate, yet gods can serve other purposes as well. Any deity, in my opinion, is basically a higher ideal or principle that provides people a purpose in life. That is especially clear when it comes to paganism’s gods. For instance, the god of war Mars represents the value of battle, effort, and victory. It places a strong emphasis on the value of traits like bravery and selflessness.
The worship of these deities can reveal information about the significance of knowledge and intellect in a particular ancient society, which makes the gods of wisdom and knowledge particularly fascinating in this perspective. In contrast to Sparta, for instance, Athens was the epicenter of intellectual life in the ancient world. Athena is the goddess of wisdom. The illustrious thinkers and philosophers of antiquity originated in Athens.
However, why is Athena a virgin or Virgo? One of the stories had her killing her father for attempting to rape her. Another myth claims that Hephaestus made an unsuccessful attempt to wed her. Aphrodite, the goddess of love, opposes Athens. It is important to remember that ancient Greek mythology is not a single, cohesive body of knowledge. Rather, myths frequently present the same story in multiple ways or even contradict one another. Even while some traditions mention Athena’s offspring, the Parthenon, the name of her most important temple in Athens, stresses her purity.
There is an intriguing connection between these two.
