When Was The Last Time Pluto Was In Aquarius

Pluto travels across the zodiac in about 248 years, and he’s been in Capricorn since 2008. Pluto will be in Aquarius from 2023 to 2044, for a total of 18 and a half years, with a few dips in and out on either end. It promises to be a difficult and revolutionary period, one that will flip society on its head. Here are the dates to put in your calendar:

Pluto represents the principle of metamorphosis, as well as the evolutionary forces of life and death, as manifested in primordial instincts and Kundalini energy. It’s linked to collective shadows and mass movements, as well as the will to power and the underworld, whether geological, political, social, or spiritual. Its purifying function promotes regeneration by destroying obsolete forms, which has both beneficial and bad repercussions.

Pluto in Aquarius will transform the rules and social norms that bind society together, as well as our ideas about humanity and how we use science and technology to manifest those ideas, if Pluto in Capricorn means the transformation of social structures, corporations, authority, and the established hierarchy.

We may see an uprising and rebellion against the oppression that has taken hold in some regions of the world under Capricorn, depending on what happens in the years leading up to Pluto’s change of signs. We need a new vision of society and the future, one that benefits all people and the planet as a whole, therefore we can expect a social and technological revolution under Pluto in Aquarius.

Let’s take a look at some of the changes from prior Pluto transits in Aquarius, some of which also coincided with Neptune in Aries or Uranus in Gemini…

To begin, the Romans invaded Britain in 43 CE, when Pluto was in Capricorn, and established the city of London. When Pluto entered Aquarius in 60 CE, there was an uprising led by Boudicca and the Iceni tribe against the occupation. Regrettably, it failed, and Boudicca was assassinated. Saturn was opposing Uranus at the time, and Neptune was in Aries as well.

The next transit occurred under Constantine’s reign in Rome, from 305 to 329. He became a Christian in 312 and was a key figure in the 313 Edict of Milan, which guaranteed religious tolerance for Christians throughout the Empire. In 325, the Council of Nicaea agreed on its interpretation of genuine Christian doctrine, rejecting several of the gospels in the process.

When Alcuin, an English theologian, created a university for the study of the liberal arts under Charlemagne in 795819, Pluto was in Aquarius, assisting in the dissemination of knowledge and learning that would lead to the Carolingian renaissance in art, music, and architecture. In the year 800, Charlemagne was crowned Holy Roman Emperor, and he formalized a number of Germanic tribal laws.

Between 1041 to 1063, Pluto was in Aquarius and Neptune was in Aries. The separation between the Eastern Orthodox and Roman Catholic Churches became permanent during this time period, and several churches were built in England, including those in Westminster and Winchester. The moveable printing type, invented in China in 1045, and the use of the astrolabe, which migrated into Europe from Islamic countries and India, were both innovations at the period.

The next transit occurred between 1286 and 1308, shortly after the end of the last Jupiter Saturn air cycle, which is similar to where we are now. Cultural trade channels were expanding across Eurasia and into Europe during this time period. Block printing, imported from China, and the development of spectacles in 1290 were also innovations at the time.

The Houses of Lords and Commons were established in the United Kingdom, and parliament was given the power to tax. In 1293, Edward I defined English Common Law, although his reign was blighted by repeated wars with Scotland. In 1305, he also standardized imperial weights and measurements, though they were constantly revised after that.

While Neptune was in Aries, Pluto was in Aquarius from 1532 until 1553. In order to marry Anne Boleyn in 1533, Henry VIII instructed the Pope to go away and established the Church of England. In 1536, he took the Church’s riches during the dissolution of the monasteries, and this breach with Rome sparked continuous squabbles between Protestants and Catholics.

In 1532, John Calvin began the Protestant Reformation in France. In Rome, Pope Paul III formed a new Inquisition in 1542 to deal with Protestantism’s increasing tide. However, when Copernicus published his heliocentric theory of the solar system in Of the Revolution of Celestial Bodies in 1543, the Church would soon be on the run.

Other important works include Machiavelli’s The Prince, published in 1532 and on how to get away with unethical practices when gaining power. And Nostradamus’ prophecies and visions, which were written during this time but not released until Pluto entered Pisces.

During Pluto’s transit through Capricorn in 1525, the first African slaves were taken to the ‘New World.’ This was the beginnings of the transatlantic slave trade, which began during Pluto’s transit through Aquarius. Meanwhile, in the early 1530s, the Spanish invaded the Incan empire in South America, stealing their treasure and destroying their civilization.

Finally, while Uranus was in Gemini, Pluto transited Aquarius between 1777 and 1797. This was the height of the Enlightenment, when individuality and rationalism were gaining popularity. Catherine the Great of Russia ascended to the throne in 1762, while Pluto was in Capricorn, and reigned until 1796. As Pluto moved into Aquarius, she enacted numerous changes in support of Enlightenment principles and was a generous patron of the arts and sciences.

The revolution had extended to other parts of the world as well. Under Pluto in Capricorn, America declared independence from England in 1776, but the revolutionary war lasted until 1783, ending with the Treaty of Versailles. The United States Constitution was ratified in 1787, and the Bill of Rights was enacted in 1789.

In the meantime, in 1789, the French Revolution began with the collapse of the king, the elimination of the feudal system, and the declaration of the “Rights of Man.” The ‘Cult of Reason,’ the first state-sponsored atheist religion, was established in 1794. The revolt lasted until 1799, and the Reign of Terror swiftly devolved into a slaughter.

Steam power was revolutionizing transportation and the textile industries as the Industrial Revolution accelerated. There are far too many breakthroughs and discoveries to name, but here are a few:

  • The metric system was created during the French Revolution and was officially defined in 1795.

Although opposition to the slave trade was growing, companies and global trade, including the slave trade, grew dramatically. In 1778, Virginia became the first state in the United States to prohibit the import of slaves. In 1787, a community for emancipated slaves was established in Sierra Leone. Denmark, on the other hand, was the first country to prohibit the slave trade in 1792. The Slave Trade Act of 1794 made it illegal for American ships to engage in the slave trade, but it wasn’t completely outlawed until Pluto was in Pisces. Slavery, however, still exists today.

In the sphere of philosophy, Kant released his Critique of Pure Reason in 1781, while Thomas Paine wrote The Rights of Man in 1791 and The Age of Reason in 1794, both inspired by the revolutions in America and France. Utilitarian principles gained popularity and were included into discussions about welfare and how to maximize happiness for the general public. In 1789, Jeremy Bentham released his Introduction to Moral and Legislative Principles.

William Blake penned The Marriage of Heaven and Hell in 1790-1793 and released Songs of Innocence and Experience in 1794, both of which were strongly critical of the industrial revolution and the Enlightenment’s concentration on reason. In 1792, Mary Wollstonecraft released A Vindication of Women’s Rights. She was also the mother of Mary Shelley, who wrote Frankenstein and was born with Pluto in Aquarius.

Finally, the talent of Mozart, as well as Haydn and Beethoven, brought the Classical form of music to its pinnacle. Classical music was simpler than earlier Baroque forms, and it used simple melodic lines. Orchestras grew in size, and advances in piano manufacturing made them more durable, allowing you to bang away at them Beethoven adored it! influencing composing styles.

When was the last time Pluto entered Aquarius?

If that sounds complicated and time-consuming that’s because it is. While the United States’ Pluto return is exact (or at the exact 27-degree mark) for the first time ever this week, astrologers agree that the slow-moving planet has been inching its way through Capricorn for a couple years. With Pluto ultimately moving into Aquarius on March 23, 2023, only to retrograde back into Capricorn twice before shifting into Aquarius for real on November 19, 2024, we may expect to feel its effects throughout this year and the next two.

What does Pluto’s position in Aquarius imply?

Pluto in Aquarius encourages us to change our perceptions of ourselves and our place in the world in our personal life. It’s natural for us to think about what’s best for ourselves and what will benefit us the most in the future, but what if our first, natural instinct was to think about what’s best for others and what will benefit us all the most in the future? This is the transformation that Pluto in Aquarius want to see in us… will we heed the call?

Pluto Retrograde in Aquarius

When Pluto performs a u-turn in the sky, he focuses his transforming force on us as individuals rather than the world at large. We’re forced to confront the pieces of ourselves that we’d rather keep hidden. Pluto Retrograde in Aquarius forces us to analyze our motivations for our actions: Are we actually acting in the best interests of others, or are we just looking out for ourselves? Do we truly believe we are a part of mankind, or do we believe we are superior to others? Do we pay attention to others’ needs or assume we already know what’s best?

We may not like some of the answers we find during Pluto’s Retrograde in Aquarius, but that’s the point: only when we recognize that something in our lives is holding us back can we begin to make the necessary changes to let go of those habits. Allow Pluto Retrograde to bring you to this insight.

If you were born with Pluto in Aquarius

It’s a potent combination to have the planet of power and change in the free-thinking and inquisitive sign of Aquarius. You know that negative energy is preventing you from getting where you want to go. You not only notice your own defects and attempt to correct them, but you also see the problems in humanity and seek to correct them.

You may find it easier to let go of things than others because Pluto in Aquarius is more attached to the mind than to emotions. But just because you understand that change is a necessity in life doesn’t mean you should start pulling down things only to change them. You may end up deleting sources of stability and happiness from your life that you will never be able to replace.

Throughout your life, you’ve probably experienced one or more significant changes in your social environment. Your hopes and ideas have been colored and shaped by these events. You’ve learnt that endings are also beginnings, and that something must die in order for something new to be created, thanks to this constant turmoil. This knowledge is a gift you may provide to the rest of the world. Write a book, start a public blog, or start a podcast to process and disseminate your ideas. Your knowledge is critical to our collective success.

When was the latest Aquarius Age?

While the “Aquarius Season” lasts 30 days, the Aquarius Age is claimed to last 2,160 years. So, what is Aquarius Season, and how does it differ from the age? Let’s go back and look at the background of everyone’s favorite water-bearer in both modern astrology and its roots in ancient astronomy before we come to any conclusions.

Aquarian Roots

The name “Aquarius” comes from the Latin word “aquarius,” which means “water-carrier, water-pourer.” Its astrological sign is water, yet it has the appearance of an electrical jolt. Aquarius connects us to forces of originality, eccentricity, independence, bold expression, and epiphanies of all kinds, and properly so. It yearns for innovation and points us in the direction of what is possible in the future. It catalyzes creativity, new discoveries, or exhilarating novelty when sparked. Technology advances are sparked by activated Aquarius energy in our culture, which is arguably what brought us the Internet. However, Aquarius energy pushes us to think about social justice as a component of the collective and communal experience.

Aquarius, like all planets and zodiac signs, isn’t all excitement and forward-thinking movement; it also has a dark side. It can be distant, non-committal, impetuous, alienated, or restless in Aquarius. Aquarius energy enjoys getting things started but not necessarily finishing them. Keep an eye out for the famed Aquarian “Last Unicorn Syndrome,” in which it believes it is the first and only person to think of an idea.

Aquarius is the archetypal misfit, lone wolf, or mad scientist. It’s a rebel who sometimes has a cause and sometimes doesn’t. Aquarius was ruled or regulated by Saturn in traditional astrology, while many modern astrologers now identify it with Uranus because Uranus had not yet been found. Saturn is known as the “night ruler,” whereas Uranus is known as the “day ruler.”

While we all have Aquarius or Uranus in our natal astrology charts, its influence on our lives or self-expression is determined by our unique natal astrology chart. Those born under the sign of Aquarius (Sun, Moon, or Rising) may feel particularly drawn to the Aquarius Season or Age. However, having your Sun or Moon in the 11th house or touching the planet Uranus can make you identify with Aquarian characteristicsbut that’s an astrology story for another day. How does Aquarius Season or the Age of Aquarius affect us if some of us are more “Aquarian” than others? Is it only a “New Age” word, or does it refer to a body of knowledge?

Historical Context: The “Age of Aquarius

While everyone of us has a unique astrological blueprint, the current position of the stars and planets in the sky adds another depth to our specific experience. We all feel the energy when the Sun is in the sign of Aquarius, just as we do when there is a new moon (like on February 4 in Aquarius). The Age of Aquarius, on the other hand, is a much larger cycle with less clarity.

Astrological ages refer to the evolution and development of civilization as a whole, rather than just an individual.

Humankind has gone through six primary periods, which correspond to the 12 tropical zodiac signs, according to astrologers all across the world. Each one lasts approximately 2,100 years. Because the time frame is so wide, it’s difficult to say when each of these time frames begins or ends. Of course, large-scale cycles aren’t exclusive to Western astrology; the Mayan calendar and Sanskrit scriptures’ Kali Yuga both reference them.

When modern astrologers speak of the Age of Aquarius, they are referring to a phenomenon involving the Earth’s backward motion and its connection to the sign of Aquarius. An ancient astronomer came up with the concept of the “precession of the zodiac” around 190 B.C.E. Because of the wobble in the Earth’s rotation, the constellation behind the Sun during the Vernal Equinox, or eclipticpath of the Sun across the skychanges. (Earth, it turns out, isn’t as steady as we thought, and it has a retrograde cycle.)

The qualities of each zodiac Sun sign are carried over into the Astrological Age of that time. We can observe important communal themes that have been influenced by the “age” we are living in in this way. According to Nicholas Campion’s research, the Age of Aquarius began around 1447 A.D.E. in the twentieth century and will last until 3597 A.D.E. According to some astrologers, it started in 2012. Around 1999, we began to hear more about the Age of Aquarius and its connections to the Mayan Calendar.

I prefer astrologer Susan Miller’s chronology theories, which place the Age of Aries between 2000 B.C.E. and 1 A.C.E., with a lot of Greek and Roman conflict. The Age of Pisces, with its emphasis on spirituality, coincides with the birth of many of the world’s great faiths. Now we’re in the Age of Aquarius, a period marked by rapid technological advances (ahem, the Internet or robotics) or (hopefully) a shift toward communal consciousness and community.

The energies of Aquarius assist us in shifting and evolving structures that allow us to go forward into what is fresh and next in our progress. Activate and enjoy your own Aquarian nature through community, action, a new creative endeavour, or even recognizing your weirdness, whether the Age of Aquarius has begun or is about to begin. Perhaps try something new or finally figure out how to use some of your phone’s more advanced functions. It’s a time to gather together in community while embracing our particular uniqueness, no matter how you catalyze and connect to Aquarius.

Rebecca Farrar earned her M.A. in Philosophy, Cosmology, and Consciousness (PCC) from the California Institute of Integral Studies. “Stargazing: Re-enchantment Through Language” was the title of her thesis, which combined philology, consciousness studies, and enchantment with the stars. Rick Tarnas, archetypal astrologer, cosmologist Brian Swimme, activist Joanna Macy, and psychotherapist Stan Grof have all taught her. C.G. Jung, Owen Barfield, Bill Plotkin, Marianne Woodman, Thomas Berry, and Clarissa Pinkola Estes are among her other influences. Is the Age of Aquarius upon us?

The Age of Aquarius is now in full swing. For many, there was a noticeable shift in energy from 2020 to 2021, albeit both years were a roller coaster. Apart with navigating the Covid era, we’ve also been told that we’ve entered a new astrological phase.

What makes it unique? That’s where things get a bit tricky, but we’ve sought the expertise of psychic and astrologer Inbaal Honigman to help us figure it out. However, keep in mind that the Age of Aquarius is frequently linked to social action, equality, and advancement. Finally. Everything you need to know is right here…

When does Pluto enter Aquarius?

Trends are difficult to predict. Even the most well-informed people generalize from current events. X may be heading up, down, or forking into a new form, but it is still X. Anything in Aquarius defies the laws of physics.

On March 24, 2023, Pluto enters Aquarius, where he will stay until January 2044. You’re a Pluto in Aquarius prepper if you’re perplexed by conventional culture and wonder why others don’t have the same need to rethink everything.

What is the duration of Pluto’s return?

Some planets have such a long cycle that no human has ever seen them return. Uranus takes 84 years, Neptune 165, and Pluto 248 years to orbit the Sun. While no individual can experience a Pluto Return, when Pluto returns, nations and empires are forced to investigate their own underworlds.

While all three exact strikes of the United States’ Pluto Return will occur in 2022, Pluto’s slow motion means we are already experiencing it, and have been since Pluto first entered Capricorn in 2008. Let’s take a glance at Pluto’s natal location in the Declaration chart before we get into the details of this transit.

When was Pluto in Capricorn the last time?

In 1998, the release of Hit Me Baby One More Time announced the entrance of a pop messiah: a girl-power demiurge who would destroy musical, generational, and gender paradigms with a single hair flip. The goddess was imprisoned ten years later, in 2008, and placed under the control of her father, the media, and the state machinery. Pluto, the planet of the underworld, entered Capricorn, the sign of governance and dominance, just as Britney Spears’ conservatorship began. Pluto has exposed countless abuses of power by the avatars of authority police, supreme court justices, film executives, and presidents during the previous 13 years. Britney Spears foretold a shift in consciousness, a destruction of what came before, and a new reclamation on June 23, 2021, when she testified about the Grand Guignol horrors she had undergone in secret. Her freedom became official on November 12th. Pluto, the destroyer and regenerator, is nearing the end of his journey.

Pluto moves slower than the other planets because it is the furthest from the sun, making its impact generational. (Millennials with Pluto in Scorpio must reconcile their feelings about power and gaslighting, whilst Gen Z with Pluto in Sagittarius must reconcile their feelings about idealism and reality.) A distinct declaration of independence was delivered to the public the previous time Pluto was in Capricorn, 225 years ago, on July 4, 1776. The founding fathers believed they were pursuing freedom when they declared the sovereignty of the American colonies over Great Britain. Capricorn is all about gaining and keeping power, and when Pluto enters the picture, the underdogs frequently become the overlords. Pluto will complete its first revolution in the chart of the United States of America in February 2022. This country’s story is flipping, pointing either a new beginning or a final conclusion.

What exactly does a Pluto Return signify for a country? The planet of the underworld must bring everything concealed to the surface before any transformation can occur. Rose McGowan, Christine Blasey Ford, Melania Brown, and other witnesses of unfair arrests, imprisonments, and murders of innocent Black and trans people around the country have all come forward in the recent decade. Bill Cosby was released a week following Spears’ testimony. Palestine is not a free country. Every transgression committed by the Capricornian system above us capitalism, enslavement, surveillance, authoritarianism, and policing is now displayed in a holographic, phantasmagoric display. It’s all back to normal now.

When Pluto arrives, there can be no ambiguity, secrets, or the dissociation that our parents’ generation experienced. Wrathful, uncompromising, righteous, and messy, she is Kali incarnate, Dark Willow, Dark Phoenix, and Michelle Pfeiffer’s Catwoman. You’re going down with her if she’s going down. Multiple Pluto Returns have occurred in more mature nations, resulting in key metamorphoses (if they can survive the experience). The Roman Empire crumbled only after its second Pluto Return, according to Ray Grasse, while cycle two for Great Britain resulted in the reign of Queen Elizabeth and a new era of prosperity and progress. In fact, it was during Elizabeth’s “Golden Age” that Britain began her slave trade, which was only abolished during the third Pluto Return. Pluto is never merely the destroyer in a person’s or a nation’s horoscope. Power is reasserted, abused, seized, and then relinquished. So, why has she travelled this far to waste her time? Should the United States survive its first showdown, even if it can? What if Pluto has arrived to complete the task?

The United States, like Spears and Princess Diana, was born with the moon in Aquarius. Whereas Capricorn protects the existing quo, Aquarius looks ahead, elevating the voices of the young in order to create a new collective framework. Its moon, which cycles between life and death, reflects the light of the moment while also imagining a possible future. Some originals aren’t fully appreciated until the times have caught up with them. Lady Di paid a high price for her uniqueness in the eyes of the media and the monarchy. Spears was punished for disobeying the arbitrary laws of a moralistic terror state in the aftermath of 9/11. Diana’s legacy has finally come to a climactic conclusion, and Spears has finally broken the quiet.

America, like Britney Spears and Princess Diana, is a product. However, there is an unspoken possibility in its DNA, an Aquarian ideal for a free future, one that belongs to the people rather than industry, royalty, or the eight men with all the money. Spears’ emancipation is due to the efforts of her fans, as well as the youth culture that she created, inspired, and inexorably organized. New forms of currency exist, including crypto and NFTs, and the recent takeover of Gamestop demonstrated the traditional financial order’s thinning grasp. President Biden’s child poverty plan has the potential to help millions of children. The reparations debate has been reignited. The traditional gender rules will soon be outmoded, and despite extreme voter suppression efforts, the white majority will statistically not be able to survive. Everything is still a mess, yet anything could happen at any time.

Pluto reaches Aquarius in 2023, after completing its return, ushering in the Matrix’s inevitable renewal. The limitations of consciousness and the rules of reality are about to go quantum. Those who assert their originality today will be chastised and their licenses will be revoked. But when the event horizon approaches, their vision will be realized in the new mutant nation that will emerge. They’ll just have to hang in there, like Spears, and wait for the rest of the world to catch up.
