Is Lucy able to reclaim the Aquarius key once she has broken it?
Lucy and her companions fight the Demons of Tartaros following the events of the Dragon invasion. Underworld King Mard Geer, on the other hand, uses his Curse to entrap everyone inside Cube, leaving Lucy as the only human left. While surfing the waves, Lucy is eventually surrounded by Jackal’s explosive Curse, prompting the former to summon Aquarius with the water nearby. Lucy falls into the sea as three spirits are summoned at the same time, pleading with them to destroy the Demons. Lucy’s dumb acts are the only thing Aquarius can comment on.
After telling Lucy to keep back, Aquarius leaps into action, summoning a massive maelstrom of water with her urn, engulfing Jackal, Lamy, and Torafuzar. Torafuzar catches Aquarius off guard by revealing that he can easily navigate in the water, charging at her and slicing her open with his blade-like forearms as Virgo and Loke cry for Lucy to close one of the gates. With Jackal blasting Virgo and Loke away at the same time, Lucy is rendered defenseless, and Aquarius, abandoned and bleeding on the ground, can only watch as the three Demons approach and assault her owner. As Jackal prepares to blow Lucy up for good, Aquarius leaps to her feet and comes to the Celestial Spirit Mage’s help, seizing her and pushing Jackal back with a flood of water. Despite the fact that none of Lucy’s Spirits have the ability to vanquish the Tartaros members, Aquarius believes there is a way for them to win: Lucy must summon the Celestial Spirit King. When Lucy asks how this is possible since the Celestial Spirit King has no key, Aquarius replies that there is only one way to summon him: Lucy must use a substitute method by breaking one of the golden zodiac keys with which she has a special link. Lucy, stunned, yells out that she would never do such a thing, but Aquarius ignores her and orders the Mage to shatter her key. Breaking the key, Aquarius adds, will not kill her, but will prevent her from leaving the Spirit World. When Lucy refuses once more, Aquarius declares that she has always despised Lucy and has only tolerated her out of respect for Layla. Aquarius cries on Lucy to stand up and save her friends, and Lucy tearsfully raises her key, commenting that she won’t miss being summoned. Aquarius begins to cry as Lucy summons the Celestial Spirit King and shatters the mermaid’s key, silently declaring that, as much as she despises Lucy, she will be sorry to never encounter her again. With her commitment completed, she expresses her gratitude to Lucy and departs for the Celestial Spirit World.
Is the Aquarius Key lost for good?
The key is shown in the Manga as a regular golden key with the Water Bearer’s crest, two parallel waves, stamped on its bow. The key is still represented as gold in the anime, but it is more delicately constructed. The bow is shaped like an upside-down urn and has two handles on either side. The Water Bearer’s crest is stamped in blue on the white center of the bow, with a heart on the base. The key’s blade is shaped like a mermaid’s tail, with “fins” emerging from either side of the bow’s base, and four more at the tip curving towards the center.
Though most spirits are summoned in water, there may be exceptions in extremely unusual instances, like as when Lucy summoned all of her spirits at once, or when all twelve Gold Key spirits were summoned to close the Eclipse Gate.
At Aquarius’ request, the key was destroyed so Lucy could defeat Tartaros and save her allies from Alegria by summoning the Celestial Spirit King.
The Water Bearer Key has been reforged, according to Aquarius, a year after Lucy shattered it to call the King. It currently resides somewhere in the world.

Celestial Spirits, on the other hand, are sentient beings with personalities and traits who may act appropriately in battle, sometimes even defying Lucy’s orders and acting independently.
Celestial Spirit Mages have the chance to earn both highly rare Gold Keys and more common, store-bought Silver Keys, which open the gates of the “Ecliptic Zodiacs.” There are a lot of Silver Keys, but only 12 Gold Keys, each of which is associated with a different astrological sign. Lucy has 10 Gold Keys and 5 Silver Keys so far, a significant number of Keys for a single Celestial Spirit Mage. Fairy Sphere (() Fear Sufia): Lucy is able to cast the Magic after following the guidelines in the book Mavis made for its recitation. She can form an ethereal ball with it and the strength of the other Fairy Tail members, which is one of the most unbreakable protection Magics available; even someone as powerful as Acnologia cannot break it.
Gottfried (Gottofurto): A legendary wizard who has been forgotten for a long time. The casters must kneel on the ground and hold hands while reciting the incantation to activate the Magic. Cana’s Magic Cards (() Majikku Kdo): As a Holder Magic user, Lucy attempted to jail her targets with Cana’s Magic Cards.

Enhanced Durability: Despite her frail appearance and her proclivity for avoiding combat, Lucy has proven to be quite tough: she was able to withstand a barrage of kicks from Kain Hikaru, an individual capable of breaking down trees and rocks with sheer physical force, without being incapacitated, and she was also able to withstand Kain attempting to crush her head with his massive arm while she was still unconscious. Later, during Team Natsu’s battle with Hades, she and Erza survived being blasted by one of his explosions.
Endurance: Lucy has proved to have a high level of physical stamina. She hasn’t displayed any signs of exhaustion when the Taurus and Aries gates were opened for a long time and then absorbed by Franmalth. Franmalth used Hades Formula 28 to severely hurt her, yet she was able to hold her own against Tartarus. Even after being injured by Jackal’s blasts and weary from having two gates open at the same time, she was able to open a third gate, which is a banned practice.
Lucy’s enhanced speed has allowed her to evade the majority of Lisanna’s strikes while in her feline form, which is noted for its fast movements and attacks.

Lucy is an expert hand-to-hand combatant, however she is not as skilled as the other members of Team Natsu in this area. Furthermore, while Lucy never uses fists owing to her limited physical strength, she does have some kicking proficiency, as evidenced by her ability to send Reedus flying with a simple kick during the Phantom Lord arc, despite him being considerably larger than she is. Lucy uses armed and unarmed combat, as well as some of her Star Dress forms, to gain an advantage in battle after a one-year time jump.
- Rshi Kikku (Lucy Kick): A so-called “last assault” that is actually a plain, non-magical melee move: Lucy strikes out in the direction of her intended victim, then leaps and uses the momentum obtained to attack the opponent with a simple kick. - W() Daburshi Kikku (Double Lucy Kick): Lucy and Gemini both jump and use their momentum to strike their opponent with two simple kicks at the same time.
