This adaptation of NisiOisin’s (Monogatari Series, Medaka Box) and Hikaru Nakamura’s (Saint Young Men, Arakawa Under the Bridge) light novel Jni Taisen: Zodiac Warriors is also available on Crunchyroll.

At Graphinica, Naoto Hosoda (The Devil Is a Part-Timer!, Shuffle!) is directing the series (Chain Chronicle: The Light of Haecceitas, Expelled from Paradise). At Avex Pictures, the series is being composed by Sadayuki Murai (Knights of Sidonia, Natsume’s Book of Friends seasons 3-5), the characters are being designed by Chikashi Kadekaru (Scar-red Rider XechS, Hkago Mania Club), and the soundtrack is being composed by G Shiina (Kyousougiga, God Eater).

The novel was published in May 2015 by NisiOisin and Nakamura. In the “biggest battle royale novel ever,” 12 warriors with the names of the 12 Chinese Zodiac members fight for a single wish, putting their lives and pride on the line. In October, Viz Media will publish the novel in hardcover.

NisiOisin and Nakamura previously cooperated on Shueisha’s Young Jump magazine’s one-shot manga “Dshitemo Kanaetai Tatta Hitotsu no Negai to Wari to Sdemonai 99 no Negai” (The only desire I want granted by all means is comparable to 99 wishes) in January 2015. The one shot and Jni Taisen’s stories are intertwined.

On September 23, Akira Akatsuki’s (Medaka Box, Luger Code 1951) manga adaptation was released on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ app and website. The manga is available for free on Viz Media’s website.
