Is palmistry and astrology the same thing?
Let me clarify further, because the trade in which I work, although being the second oldest profession known to man, is unfamiliar to the average person. Palmistry is one of a number of ostensibly psychic sciences that deal with man, his personality, and his future. Astrology, for example, is an ancient and widely accepted “science” that employs the stars and various periods of the year to predict what the future holds for a person. Cards, either the regular kind or Tarot cards, which originated in Israel, are another common method of fortune-telling. Tea leaves are widely read, and with some success, I’m told. In Boston, there are several tea-reading establishments that are booming. There are handwriting analysts, as well as those who interpret fortunes based on facial traits (physiognomy), head bumps (phrenology), and even moles! Yes, as unbelievable as it may seem, some authorities believe that the location of moles on the human body has meaning, and they name their knowledge “moleosophy.”

In palmistry, it is said that the right hand is for females and the left hand is for males. This is because in Chinese culture, the left side is connected with males and fatherhood, while the right side is associated with females and motherhood (e.g. marriage license photos, wedding seating).
Gender traditions are overlooked in modern palm reading. The right hand, which is most people’s dominant hand, is said to symbolize now and the future, and so may be changed with time and experience, whereas the left hand is seen to represent the past and attributes that a person is born with.
Unless you’re left-handed, it’s more important to prioritize the right hand in palmistry, even though most people’s hands are symmetrical (with subtle differences).

What to look for: The length of the head line reveals your approach to decisions and actions (longer lines will be more methodical thinkers while shorter lines probably belong to more impulsive thinkers).
