Chiron represents our deepest scars and how we might overcome them in modern astrology.
Chiron is named after a Greek healer, philosopher, and teacher who, paradoxically, was unable to heal himself, and is symbolized by a key, suggesting the significance of unlocking the important lessons of this minor planet.
Our Chiron placement is our secret power in many ways. We earn insight as a result of our struggles with pain, which we can pass on to others like a wonderful balm.
Chiron usually spends eight years in a single zodiac sign. (However, once in Saturn’s orbit, he can fly past a single sign in less than two years.) It’s entirely up to him whether he wants outpatient surgery or a longer course of treatment.)
Because it takes Chiron 49 years to travel through all 12 zodiac signs, we all experience a “Chiron return” about the time we age 50.
Our inner scars may resurface at this stage, requiring another session of therapy, especially if we’ve previously avoided any deeper self-examination. If we’ve “finished our task,” we can be asked to take on leadership roles that allow us to share our knowledge and use our healing abilities at this time.

In astrology, what is your Chiron?
Chiron is a comet that orbits in an unusual and unpredictable manner. Chiron is represented by the “wounded healer” in the natal chart. It reflects our most serious wound and our efforts to heal it.
Chiron was named after the Greek centaur Chiron, who was a healer and teacher who, however, couldn’t heal himself.
Chiron was a clever teacher and healer, as well as a renegade who did things his own way.
Chiron in the Natal Chart
The presence of Chiron in our natal charts indicates that we have healing abilities as a result of our own profound spiritual scars. In various areas of life, we may overcompensate. Chiron, as a wounded healer, must first confront and overcome issues of low self-worth and feelings of inadequacy.
Healing skills are strong since the wound is deep and we may have to work hard to conquer it. As a result, Chiron is a place of vast knowledge, experience, talent, and wisdom in our horoscopes. Even if our personal experiences with the issues are difficult, they inform us, and we can be wonderful mentors and counselors in these areas.
Its sign and house location reveal our wound as well as how we express it. Chiron’s themes include how we can metaphorically shoot ourselves in the foot, harm ourselves, or nurse a wound. In Chiron-affected areas, we go our own path.
Other characters in the Chiron story are revealed through Chiron’s aspects, and Chiron’s transits function as time markers. Our continuous work with our Chironic difficulties is likewise timed by transits to our natal Chiron.
Chiron’s glyph, or symbol, is shaped like a key and consists of a “O” and a “K,” representing “Object Kowal,” Chiron’s original name (Charles Kowal discovered Chiron in 1977).
Astrologers have done a fantastic job studying and understanding Chiron and its significance in our horoscopes. Zane Stein is one of them. Off-site reading: Chiron and His Companions.

The planets in astrology are frequently considered of as the most valuable players in our birth charts. However, as astronomical discoveries progress, so does astrology practice, which means that the sun, moon, and other main planets are no longer the only relevant celestial bodies that make up our distinct cosmic profile. In modern astrology, the small planet Chiron has become a fixture. Chiron, often known as the “wounded healer” in astrology, represents our deepest scars and our ability to heal them.
Chiron was discovered in 1977, making it a relatively new addition to the astrological canon, similar to asteroids (which were identified in the 1800s but didn’t become prominent in astrology until the 1970s). As a result, traditional astrology does not use Chiron, but it is becoming increasingly prevalent and recognized in modern practice. Many astrologers watch Chiron’s motions around the zodiac today, just like they would any other planet, when preparing horoscopes or interpreting birth charts.
Chiron was thought to be a distant asteroid when it was discovered, but it was eventually identified as a comet and minor planet, sometimes known as a dwarf planet or planetoid. Whatever you want to call it, this small but powerful celestial body appears in our birth charts as a symbol of both agony and healing. Find out what Chiron symbolizes in astrology by reading on.

What does the fact that my Chiron is in Aries mean?
Chiron slipped into Aries for part of 2018 (AprilSeptember) before solidly entering Aries in February of 2019, where it will remain until 2026.
Chiron’s transit through Aries will force each of us to assert our identity. The “I AM” idea is represented by Aries. During Chiron’s transit through this sign, we will be offered opportunities to mend whatever is preventing us from expressing our true selves. However, in order to heal, we must first become conscious of the wound.
Chiron’s legend begins with parental rejection. Chiron was born from the coupling of Cronus (Saturn) and Phylira, a nymph (water spirit). He was born a centaur, and his mother abandoned him due to his abnormality. He was orphaned for a time before being adopted by Apollo. He was taught the talents of healing, music, and prophecy by Apollo (including astrology).
Chiron was able to rise above his difficult start by putting his insight to good use. He had a reputation as a brilliant healer and oracle in addition to being a great teacher. He went on to become a well-known tutor as well.
He would not have gone on his road if it hadn’t been for the initial woundhis mother’s rejection. At its core, Chiron’s story is about a constructive reaction to this inner wound.
Many of us experienced some type of parental rejection at some point in our lives, whether quietly or blatantly. It boils down to this: You aren’t good enough just the way you are. It’s not that our parents were bad people or even abusive. As their children establish their own personality, it is typical for parents to reject aspects of their children that do not reflect them or go against their expectations. However, depending on the level of self-awareness with which parents responded to a child’s developing uniqueness, the intensity of the “parental rejection” wound might be exacerbated or decreased. And, given their own childhood wounds, their response is reliant on the instruments available to these parents. And so forth.
The wound of parental rejection prevents many of us from expressing the I AM principle. We are urged to revisit and repair this original wound now that Chiron is in Aries for the collective. The coming seven years offer an opportunity to embrace radical self-acceptance. However, we will very certainly have to fight against opposing forces in order to do so. These forces appear to be outside of our control. However, they originate from within us, from aspects of our inner nature that we have previously refused to recognize.
I’ll describe my own experience as a Chiron-in-Aries native to show some of the attributes of Chiron in Aries.
