(I’m not persuaded that having a strong 1st house makes you like Mars or Aires, but for those who believe it, 1st house planets are given a set number of points.)

NOTES ON SCORING:The orbs I use for aspects and in these tests are as follows: A conjunction or opposition gets an 8, a square or trine gets a 6, and minor aspects get a 3. The only exception is a conjunction or opposition to the Midheaven or Ascendant, which is 10 according to Gauquelin’s research. These are rather common orbs among contemporary American astrologers. If you’re using an AstroDienst chart, keep in mind that their orbs are wider than this, and I find that broader orbs aren’t particularly helpful in these measurements.

I’ve completed the task. It’s something I’ve done to myself, my crushes, and even my celebrity crushes. I was ten years old and anxious to figure out how Gerard Way, the lead singer of My Chemical Romance, and I could finally make it work. One of the touchstones of my current astrological understanding was that romantic desperation.
But if I could start over, I’d start with the fundamentals: the ingredients. The 12 zodiac signs are split into four elements in Western astrology: air, water, fire, and earth. Each has its own characteristics and associations, which are included in diverse ways by the three signs an element rules.
You’ll have a good knowledge of every sign if you comprehend the ingredients. This will give you access to the full wheel of the zodiac. The planets in each sign become (kind of) easy to imagine from there. Even compatibility, which we’ll discuss later, becomes more straightforward. In Paprika, one of my favorite movies, a minor character transforms into a villain, splitting into dual heads and rupturing his seam with cerulean butterflies. “I never knew this side of you!” exclaims the heroine, horrified. “I have many sides,” our doppelganger responds, “and that is what makes me human!”
All of that bullshit about Geminis being two-faced liars is true, but we all do it to some extent. This is code-switching in its purest form. It’s “turning on for work,” having a “phone voice,” and avoiding the topic of your kinky sex life at the dinner table with your Evangelical grandfather. Our identity is fleeting, changing all the time. Gemini simply embraces its natural duality a little more forcefully and openly than the other of the zodiac signs.

When Venus or Mars is in Libra, special attention is paid to pleasing the partner. These individuals might be subtly offensive.
