The Lunar Effect
The Moon is kind of a major deal when it comes to having babies, which is one area where science tiptoes and astrology dives right in.
To begin with, menstrual cycles, which control fertility, are the same length as the lunar month (women vary in their cycles, but on average match the 29.5-day lunar cycle almost exactly). That’s probably just a “interesting coincidence,” according to hard science.
What do we know about monthly cycles and the moon?
A study of more than 8,000 women, presented to the American Society for Reproductive Medicine by fertility specialist Dr. Philip Chenette in 2014, found a clear link between monthly cycles and the moon. Most women have their periods within 10 days of the full moon and reach peak fertility around the new moon.
There are, however, numerous outliers, including numerous anecdotal accounts that peak fertility occurs with the full moon. What’s the deal with the discrepancy? According to one study, constant exposure to artificial light may be keeping a lot of women from getting pregnant “synchronizing with the moon’s gravitational pull Anecdotal evidence suggests that families with more women living together are more likely to have children “Younger women are more likely to be in sync with the moon’s phases than older women.
Dr. Eugen Jonas, a Czech fertility expert, has made an even stronger link between fertility and astrology in his new book “Women have been using the Jonas Method to get pregnant since the 1950s. According to Dr. Jonas, each woman’s relationship with the moon and fertility is unique: “The phase of the moon at the time of a woman’s birth corresponds to her fertility. She will be fertile during the full moon if the moon was full when she was born.
Does that make sense? Using his method, here’s an online calculator to predict your most fertile times.
The moons and fertility: is it lunacy?
Many scientists would argue that it’s just a coincidence “According to an old wives’ tale, fertility rises in the days leading up to the full moon. They’d also probably dismiss the numerous anecdotal accounts of EMTs, emergency room workers, and first responders who routinely staff up for busy times during the full moon.
However, there is one exception “Many human events, including epileptic seizures, motorcycle wrecks, and stock market peaks, are linked to lunar phases, according to scientific research. Not to mention the effects of the tides (and our over-90 percent -water bods).
Every body’s different
While there are many compelling links between the moon and fertility, it’s important to remember that every woman is unique and different, just as every astrological chart is.
Is it possible for you to track the phases of the moon in a meaningful way? A good place to start learning about your own lunar fertility relationship is by using a traditional ovulation calculator, like this one offered by WebMDthen matching it to the phases of the moon.
Covering your “moon bases for using astrology for fertility and pregnancy
As you can see from the list above, there are a few different perspectives on using the moon to track your fertility. However, covering all of your “moon bases” isn’t too difficult.
Women have two fertile periods during each cycle, according to Dr. Jonas’ method.
- When the moon is in the exact same phase as it was when she was born. (Find out what moon phase you were born in!)
- When she ovulates, this can be followed using a standard ovulation calendar such as the one provided by WebMD.
To add to Dr. Chenette’s findings, keep a watch on the new moon, which some observers believe has a long history of being associated with conception since, well, it’s darker then!
And…just to throw in one more wild card, there’s also “spontaneous ovulation,” which can be triggered by astrology, a particularly delicious chocolate cake, closing a big deal at work, or watching an Idris Elba film (just kidding, but you get the ideaspontaneous ovulation is as individual as you are.)
Which Graha is in charge of conception?
After the couple has a kid, the marriage is considered complete. Giving birth to a kid contributes to the continuation of the family legacy. The birth of a kid provides a married couple great delight, and their entire existence revolves around raising the infant into a human being with excellent moral values. Even so, there are certain couples who are unable to have children.
Child and pregnancy prediction is a branch of Vedic astrology that predicts whether or not a couple will be able to have children. To forecast childbirth using a horoscope, both partners’ horoscopes must be reviewed. Despite the fact that no medical issues have been discovered, there are astrological treatments for childbirth complications.
A female’s most common concern is when she will become pregnant. The 5th House is the most crucial House related to children when reviewing the pregnancy prediction horoscope.
Let’s take a look at the several Houses that are thought to be significant in pregnancy.
1st House: When a woman needs to become pregnant, she should be in good health, and if the ascendant or ascendant lord has any negative aspects, it may impair the lady’s health. In a woman’s horoscope, a strong ascendant suggests good health and a strong drive to achieve something.
9th House: As the 5th House from the 5th House of the horoscope, the 9th House and its Lord are likewise essential for getting pregnant or giving birth. Jupiter is a karaka planet for childbirth since it is favorable and provides some unique benefits of childbirth in a horoscope. As a result, Jupiter should be well-placed, free of any malefic influences from other malefic planets.
The 7th House, along with its Lord, is also responsible for childbirth because it represents the individual’s spouse in the horoscope. The manor woman may experience impotency as a result of her sexual activities and longing for love, as well as the negative effects of malefic planets or the interaction of Saturn on Mercury with this House. If a woman finds sexual intercourse satisfying, she may be more likely to become pregnant quickly.
8th House: The male and female sexual parts of the horoscope are represented by this House. Malefic planets such as Saturn, Mercury, Rahu, and Ketu having negative influences on the 8th House or the Lord of the 8th House can reduce the working ability of sexual parts and cause impotency, which can also make it difficult to get pregnant.
When the 11th house is connected to the 2nd and/or 5th houses, it denotes the birth of children.
The 5th House is mostly concerned with childbirth and pregnancy. Malefics like Rahu, Ketu, and Saturn should not be in the 5th house or in any aspect to it. If this House or the Lord of the 5th House is weak or afflicted by malefic planets like as Saturn, Mars, Rahu, or Ketu, it may be difficult to conceive and deliver a child. The 5th house Lord should not be placed in the 6th, 8th, or 12th houses. The 5th house should not be ruled by Mars. Jupiter in conjunction with the 5th house is seen to be particularly favorable for birthing. The Lord of the 5th house being placed in the 1st house and vice versa encourages childbirth. Planets in the 5th house must be located in the Nakshatras of planets that represent birthing combos.
In terms of pregnancy and childbirth, some indications in the 5th house are regarded “Fertile Signs,” while others are considered “Infertile Signs,” and yet others are called “Indecisive Signs.”

Signs of Indecisiveness:
It’s worth noting that planets’ influences on the first, fourth, and tenth houses imply that the person is unlikely to have a kid. Thus, in both the husband’s and wife’s horoscopes, all planets must be examined for their effects depending on a variety of factors such as:
The aspects that the planets are casting, as well as the aspects that they are casting on them
The following are the facts and elements that must be evaluated and analyzed in order to determine the likelihood of pregnancy, forecast the time of pregnancy, and find solutions to many pertinent problems:
The planets Saturn, Mars, and Jupiter should be in aspect with the above houses or their separate lords, or transiting over them.
The positions and condition of the planets Sun, Jupiter, Venus, and Mars in the male horoscope must be favorable.
The planets Moon, Jupiter, Venus, and Mars should be well-placed and advantageous in the female horoscope.
Any or all of the Zodiac signs, such as Aries, Taurus, Capricorn, Gemini, or Aquarius, should be represented in the 5thhouse or its lord.
The position of the planets in a child’s horoscope The Kundali can assist decide whether or not an individual will be able to experience the joy of a child. Yogas are planetary combinations that are produced in a child’s horoscope based on vedic rules and concepts. We’ll try to explain these principles with some instances here.
You will enjoy happiness from children if the 5th house Lord forms the Lagna or the Moon-ascendant is well positioned and Jupiter is in a good position.
When Jupiter is in a strong position and the lord of the Lagna is in the 5th house, the result is a child who is dutiful.
According to Vedic astrology, if the lord of the fifth house is in its own sign and in aspect with an unfavourable planet or sukhesh or bhagyesh, it is considered an auspicious situation for a child’s birth.
If there is a strong Panchmesh in the Lagna, fifth, seventh, or ninth house of a kundali and it is not affected by a malefic planet, the person will be blessed with a kid.
It is also thought that if the lord of the Lagna is in the fifth house and Jupiter is powerful in a horoscope, the child born to an individual is a Karak.
If any of the planets Mercury, Venus, or the Moon are present in the Ekadash, it brings a childish delight. In addition, if Aries, Taurus, or Cancer are in the fifth house, the person will be rewarded with a kid.
In the seventh house or in an elevated sign in the horoscope, Lagnesh or Navmesha are considered auspicious for childbirth. Similarly, Jupiter in conjunction with Lagnesha yields positive outcomes.
The formation of a Trikon by the Lords of Kendra is regarded an auspicious Yoga for childbirth. Jupiter, Venus, or Panchamesha in the ninth house would also produce positive results.
If the fifth house of the Lagna is in the category of Venus and Moon and is in aspect with them, the person will have multiple children. However, if there is an aspect or conjunction of a malefic or inauspicious planet in this situation, the individual may face difficulties.
When panchmesh and lagnesh are in the category of male planets and are aspected with them, a kid is born to an individual. When the Panchmesh is conjunct Rahu during Rahu’s Antar-dasha, the results are likewise favorable.
If Taurus, Leo, or Scorpio are in the fifth house with the Sun, and Saturn and Mars are in the eighth and ascendant houses, respectively, the joys of motherhood will be delayed.
When Rahu is in the 11th house and there is no planet in the 5th house, the person will have a kid, but it will be delayed. Also, if the Taurus, Leo, Virgo, and Scorpio signs are aligned with the Sun in the 5th house, Saturn in the 8th house, and Mars in the Lagna, childbirth will be postponed.
The fifth house, sometimes known as the house of children, is said to be significant in determining the birth of a child. Jupiter is the karaka of the fifth house, which brings joy to children, respect, and wisdom. As a result, the fifth house is employed to predict the birth of a kid. A person with an unlucky fifth house may not be able to have a child.
Parivartan yoga, which connects panchmesha with ashtamesha, is regarded an unlucky yoga for birthing. This yoga has the potential to have a substantial impact on the individual’s child’s ancestral property rights. He’d never be pleased with his own achievements. Yoga has a significant impact on an individual’s health.
When will I become pregnant?
Between the ages of late adolescence and late adolescence, a woman’s reproductive years are at their height. Fertility (the capacity to become pregnant) begins to drop about the age of 30. Once you reach your mid-30s, your decline accelerates. Fertility has plummeted to the point where most women will be unable to conceive naturally by the age of 45.
What are the signs in the zodiac that are most fertile?
The Sun governs the shifting cycles and seasons throughout the calendar year, whereas the Moon governs the changing cycles and rhythms inside each month.
Anyone who is aware of the Sun and Moon’s rhythms knows that certain times in these cycles are marked by productive energy, while others are marked by barren energy. This article looks at the Moon’s monthly cycle and how the combination of different aspects of the cycle, such as sign and phase, can assist define fertility and barrenness peaks. You’ll get even more out of each consultation if you mix heavenly wisdom with your usual beauty regimens.
The Moon was thought to be the most important planet in terms of health, fertility, and bodily well-being by ancient astrologers.
The highest and farthest planetary sphere from earth was Saturn, whereas the Moon was the closest and thus most attuned planetary sphere to the physical or natural world in the oldest hierarchy of planetary spheres. Farmers’ planting guides or almanacs, natural gardening calendars, and fisherman tracking the Moon’s influence on tides and fish movements still honor connections between the Moon and the physical world.
Every living thing evolves in a way that is influenced by its surroundings. External conditions are sometimes appropriate for the type of growth that is necessary, and other times they are not. Have you ever wondered why you can wait up to six weeks between visits to the beautician, but only three weeks at other times?
Astrology is founded on the idea that the energy existing at the time anything starts or an action is done has an impact on whatever ‘births’ or begins at that time.
A beautician visit at home wax or shave can be arranged up to six weeks apart if you can discover the ideal time to reduce regrowth. Imagine being able to go to the hairdresser during a period of increased fertility and receive the thickest, most luxuriant regrowth possible.
Fertile periods can be defined as times when the conditions are favorable for starting something with a specific goal in mind. Astrology is one method for determining whether a specific period is best suited for your intended action. Rather than focusing on the emotional or psychological aspects of astrology, this article offers an overview of how the many phases of the Moon’s regular cycles might assist you in practical areas like grooming, attractiveness, and fertility.
The Moon’s proximity to Earth in comparison to other planets emphasizes the relevance of lunar cycles as a foundation for natural planning in terms of aesthetics and fertility rituals. In this article, you’ll learn when a month is normally fertile or barren, as well as how to determine when these times occur.
At the end of the article, there’s a calendar with information about barren and fertile days in June, July, and August 2018. This will assist you in putting this strategy into practice and experiencing it in action during your own beauty cycles.
The Moon phases are the first and most essential component in determining whether a certain time is generally fertile, that is, favorable for growth, or barren, that is, ideal for discouraging or limiting growth.
Each month, the Moon goes through eight different phases. They are as follows:
- Phase of the Crescent Moon (waxing)
- Phase of the Moon in the First Quarter
- Moon Phase: Waxing Gibbous
- Moon Phase: Disseminating or Waning Gibbous
- Third Quarter or Last quarter Phase of the Moon
- Dark Moon phase or balsamic Moon phase (waning crescent)
The Moon is so close to the Sun during the New and Balsamic phases that it is said to be gobbled up and unable to reflect the Sun’s light. When the Moon is not visible, these are known as dark Moon moments. (Remember that the Moon has no light of its own; it just reflects the Sun’s light at varying angles.)
At the Full Moon, the Moon reaches its highest point, a period when emotions run high and plant fluid and sap levels rise. Many hospital employees, police officers, and even stockbrokers will attest to an increase in ‘craziness’ at their employment as a result of the Full Moon each month.
The Moon becomes lighter as it progresses from the New Moon to the Full Moon. This is known as ‘Waxing,’ and it includes the new, crescent, first quarter, and gibbous phases. This two-week period is thought to be the most fertile in the Moon’s cycle, and it is ideal for growth. You have a better chance of achieving thick, luscious regrowth if you cut or prune then.
The Moon shrinks in size and loses illumination as it progresses from the Full Moon to the New Moon. This is known as ‘Waning,’ and it includes the full, disseminated, third quarter, and balsamic phases. This two-week phase is thought to be more barren, making it ideal for cosmetic and hair treatments that aim to reduce or thin regrowth. (It’s also excellent for weeding in the garden!)
You have a better chance of minimizing or halting regrowth if you trim or groom then. Given how different cosmetic and hair treatments provide varied results, it may be beneficial to schedule waxing sessions during the barren or waning phase and hairdressing appointments during the fruitful or waxing phase.
There are, as always, a few exceptions to this waxing and waning pattern. While the New Moon marks the start of the cycle and the fertile period, because there is no Moon light during this phase, it is a good idea to wait at least 12 hours following the New Moon before beginning any beauty or grooming practices that require luxuriant regrowth. Even though the Moon is technically waxing at the time, the Full Moon, being the apex of the lunar cycle, can be highly fruitful.
From June to August 2018, here’s a quick rundown of the waxing and declining Moon phases.
There are some days that are highly fruitful (great for hairdresser visits or boosting skin suppleness) and other days that are super barren throughout these waxing and waning seasons (ideal for waxing appointments, cleansing and detox treatments). To calculate the exceptionally fruitful or barren days, you’ll need one additional piece of information: the Moon signs.
Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces are all water signs.
Being lush and wet is said to be fertile. The earth sign of Virgo and the air sign of Gemini, which are both ruled by the fickle Mercury, are both considered barren, as is the fire sign of Leo, which is dominated by the Sun and is too hot for growth.
The additional indicators are attributed to semi-fertile or semi-barren state by various authors. While there is no universal agreement on how these designations are assigned, the earth signs Taurus and Capricorn are thought to be’somewhat fertile.’ Libra and Aquarius, the other two air signs, and Sagittarius and Aries, the remaining fire signs, are considered barren. I’ve seen air signs regarded fruitful in some cases, or even Libra and Taurus as semi fertile due to Venus’s rulership, but Aquarius and Capricorn may be considered semi barren due to Saturn’s rulership.
Remember that the sign’s productive or barren quality is linked to something inherent in the sign. Your sign is not you. When it comes to determining your physical fertility, your entire birth chart is taken into account, so don’t say to yourself, “I’m a Gemini, so I’m infertile.” This is not the case!
While astrology may and can predict fertility in terms of conception and pregnancy, there’s a lot more to it than simply your Sun Sign when it comes to assessing your personal fertility levels.
The Moon phase at birth, the Moon sign at birth, and the state of the planets and signs associated to the 5th House of Children all have a role in determining fertility in the birth chart. It has very little to do with your Sun Sign. Using a combination of these and other indicators, a trained astrologer can determine your personal fertility picture.
Your fertility score is calculated using your whole birth chart. Changes in your life’s cycles also have an impact on it. Astrologers use some of the procedures outlined here to determine individual fertility and conception inclinations.
The two tools described previously are
When it comes to defining your personal spot on the fertile/barren spectrum based on your birth chart, the Moon phase and sign are crucial. Aspects and planetary location are also important considerations. As difficult as it may be to accept, not everyone is biologically intended to procreate in this lifetime. Having a child is a deep inner yearning for many women, and issues conceiving can be challenging to overcome.
There is sometimes a link between a woman’s desire for children and the number of barren rather than fertile astrological markers in her chart. However, this is not always the case, and some women with a high number of barren signs still want for a child.
Due to your continually changing planetary cycles, you will have exceptionally high or low fertile times throughout your life, regardless of where you start on the fertile to barren spectrum. In today’s world, there are numerous medical methods for overcoming intrinsic infertility, allowing women who would otherwise be unable to conceive to have a child.
Julia Child, author of ‘Mastering the Art of French Cooking,’ was barren her whole life. It’s difficult to say whether this was by choice or not (though if you’ve seen Julie & Julia, you’ll agree it wasn’t by choice, given Julia’s anguish at learning her sister was pregnant).
Julia was born on August 15, 1912, at 11.30 p.m. in Pasadena, California, according to Astrodatabank.
Julia’s 5th House of Children is ruled by Libra. Libra’s ruling planet, Venus, is in the Virgo zodiac sign. In terms of fertility, Libra on the 5th might go either way depending on Venus’s position. The fact that Venus is in Virgo (a barren sign) suggests that conception may be delayed or difficult.
Julia’s Moon is in Libra in her fifth house. This could be beneficial, unless the Moon is close to the South Node, which is not conducive to conception.
Julia’s zodiac sign, Leo, had no bearing on her ability to conceive. Julia was born during the crescent Moon phase, which can aid fertility, but this was insufficient to overcome the obstacles presented by the ruler of the 5th and the Moon’s aspect to the South node.
One case in particular comes to me from my client files. Let’s call this person ‘Elaine.’
The reproductive profile of ‘Elaine’ is mixed. Her ruling planet, Venus, is in the fertile sign of Pisces, and she has Libra on the fifth house cusp as well.
Venus is also conjunct Jupiter in Pisces, which is a fertile sign. An astrologer would indicate that this client should expect ease and flow in the fertility field for the most part.
The reproductive potential of Venus is substantially enhanced by Jupiter, which indicates an abundance of children. This is a very fertile location. This customer just had her third child and is considering having a fourth.
There are numerous grooming and beauty routines in modern society, each with its own set of goals. When you cut your hair, you usually hope that it will regrow thick, rich, and long. When you shave or wax your legs, you normally hope that they would regrow slowly and thinly.
Days in each monthly Moon cycle where the fertile waxing phase connects with fertile Zodiac signs or where the barren declining phase aligns with barren Zodiac signs can now be combined. This shows how many fruitful or barren days there are in a certain time. If the Moon was waxing and in the signs of Cancer, Scorpio, or Pisces, for example, there would be a lot of productive energy. This would be strong barren energy if the Moon was in a declining phase and in the signs of Gemini, Leo, or Virgo.
Not every month, every combination occurs. Some months have a lot of high fertile days and very few extreme barren days, while others have the opposite. When you look at the detailed calendar below, you’ll see this in action.
This is a rudimentary introduction to the astrological notions of beauty, grooming, and fertility. When you consider the nature of the signs and their ruling planets, things get much more complicated, but that’s a topic for another day. For the time being, consider aligning your beauty treatments with lunar cycles to channel your inner Goddess.
