Locational astrology astrologers utilize one of two approaches to investigate how the energies impact you. The first is astrocartography, an astrological system that combines your birth chart with a global map to depict the location of all the planets, constellations, and astral bodies on the day you were born. Are you looking for a good time? Moving to a city with a Uranus line may be suggested by an astrologer. Are you trying to figure out who you are? It’s possible that you’ll want to be near a sun line. The relocation astrology approach, on the other hand, casts your birth chart for alternative areas than where you were born. The astrologer will use the town’s longitude and latitude to determine what the sky looked like at the time of your birth in those locations.
I requested Lanyadoo, who utilizes relocation astrology, and Rebecca Farrar, also known as Wild Witch of the West, who uses astrocartography, to compare Galway, Ireland, and Paris, France, the two cities I resided in during and after college, to examine the accuracy of locational astrology. I also asked them to look into New York/New Jersey, the Bay Area, and any other regions that appeared promising for my future relocation.

Which planet is in charge of the relocation?
We already know that a person’s character, looks, moods, actions, and life choices are influenced by the planets and their relative positions to his or her place of birth. But what happens when someone moves away from their home? Of course, he will continue to have the same skills or unresolved challenges, but by altering the fundamental planetary energies, he can either exacerbate his current problems, significantly alleviate them, or attract the most advantageous influences for certain accomplishments. What relocational astrology does is provide you a map of the entire world with pins pointing to the locations where your natal planetary placements will have the biggest impact. For example, everyone has the planet Venus in their horoscopes, which is responsible for material things, but some people have it in a very powerful position in their chart (thus, they easily get money), while others have it in a very weak position (therefore, they struggle to acquire money) (hence, not much luck in financial endeavors). Of course, it’s never so straightforward, because you have to consider the entire horoscope, not just one aspect, but let’s suppose it’s the rule. So, if you want to boost your Venus’s power and ability to attract money, you can relocate to a location where your Venus is considerably stronger, which we call relocating beneath a Venus line. Let’s have a look at an anonymous client’s map:
She comes from another continent, and because she did not have any powerfully placed planets (planets on an astrology anglethe angles of the birth chart are the most powerful points) while she was there, her potential was not fully developed. However, she then relocated to London, and as you can see, there is a significant convergence of planetary lines around the United Kingdom. Considering that each line has a maximum influence of 300 miles on both sides, we can see that Britain is surrounded by five major planetary lines. However, because they are closest to London, the black Pluto Line and the lavender Neptune One have had the greatest impact. So, what does Pluto mean? He is the God of the Underworld, and he takes you to the pits of Hell, the dark side of things, power struggles, violence, strong passions, taboo subjects, hidden skeletons, illegal activities, obsessions on the one hand, and transformation, healing, personal power, regeneration, psychological work, big corporations, control of big resources, and strong ambition on the other. However, it is linked to extremesforcing you to go to Purgatory to meet your Demons in order to return cleaned but toughened.
Pluto is associated with reputation, career, social position, and social image, and most of the difficult manifestations associated with Pluto have manifested in her life at some point. But, because Pluto is the Phoenix bird’s symbol, whatever crises and painful experiences one may face, one emerges stronger and more bright from the ashes, ready to take on the world! She began moving in circles of highly powerful individuals from the outset, but she said that she was intimidated and afraid of themalmost as if they were dark rulers of the Universe (Pluto). She began taking job after job, only to lose them all due to power disputes with the bosses (Pluto on the career line). She afterwards became involved in the illegal business of falsifying documents and distributing drugs. She was able to get out of there uninjured and start her own escort service! All of her unlawful career activities had to be kept disguised because she was advancing up the social ladder! (So far, all of these are Plutonian manifestations linked to the chart’s social status/career angle)
But, as is always the case with Pluto, things never stay the same for long and continue to shift completely! At the same time, she began studying psychology (Pluto) with the goal of better understanding herself and possibly turning it into a career. Soon after, she met her lover, Pluto, who was an extremely strong and dominating man who began grooming her for a high-ranking position in his large corporation. Now she works happily for a large firm (pluto) and is finally living Pluto’s positive, empowered expressions! Wow, this Pluto isn’t boring at all, is it? It’s not a fairytale, but it surely keeps you on your toes and challenges you to change. But I doubt she would have handled all of these events with such easy if it hadn’t been for the influence of Neptune and Venus near to London! Both planets have a soothing and feminine impact. Neptune causes you to see the world through rose-colored glasses, almost as if you’re in a dreamlike state where you live in your own universe of whatever you choose to believe. It also makes you incomprehensible and adaptable; you can project any image you choose to others, and they will never be able to see through the veil.
Neptune aided her in keeping her secrets and glitzy attire hidden from society. However, it also assisted her in surviving all of Pluto’s gloom without comprehending the extent of its bad aspects. Despite everything, the Venus line enabled her to be happy, popular, financially successful, and safe. I’ve seen people who migrate to live beneath one of their Saturn lines face numerous challenges and roadblocks. They must labor considerably harder and longer for less compensation, but if Saturn is nicely aspected in their horoscope, all of their efforts pay off by constructing incredibly strong, unshakeable foundations. However, under this line, life will always feel a little bit gloomier and less colorful. On the other side, Jupiter line territories constantly present you with a plethora of options, benevolently inclined people, opportunity to broaden your horizons, and an optimistic mindset. If Jupiter is well aspected in your chart, you will take full advantage of these opportunities and advance your growth; however, if Jupiter is badly aspected, there is a tendency to just live the good life extravagantly and not make the most of all the opportunities, though one will still feel much better there.
In astrology, which position is the most important?
Your Sun sign is one of the most essential placements in modern astrology, but whether the Sun is the most important in traditional astrology depends on the time of day you were born. Both the Sun and the Moon are luminaries, and which one is more important depends on your chart’s sect (day or night). The Sun is your most important luminary and sect light if you were born during the day (the Sun is above the ascendant-descendant line in your natal chart). If you were born at night (when the Sun is below the ascendant-descendant line in your birth chart), the Moon is the most important luminary and sect light for you.
Your sect light, or most important luminary, in the chart, where the Sun represents power and intelligence and the Moon represents the physical body, is another indicator of vitality. Both lights embody the concept of visibility and being noticed, which can take many forms. Whatever the case may be, your most important luminary shows you where you “light up” in life. As a result, it occupies a critical position in the chart.
What is the best way to interpret astrocartography?
You’ll feel the orb of influence of a planetary line up to 400 miles even if you’re not directly on it. The farther you walk away from the planetary line, the more energy lessons you will receive.
There are additionally points that target a specific spot on your astrocartography map when longitudinal and latitudinal lines cross, as well as crossover sites when longitudinal and latitudinal lines intersect. When planetary lines come close together or cross directly, they form an entity.
When many lines are combined, a richer tale is told. I’ve been studying astrology and astrocartography for 12 years and now offer astrogeography readings tailored to your specific requirements and interests, as well as a deeper look into your unique soul’s history in the world. More information regarding my services can be found here, but let’s get back to deciphering your map!
What is a relocation chart, exactly?
Your traditional birth chart is a diagram of the heavens at the time of your birth, at a specific region.
Because relocation astrology entails moving your birthplace to a different location at the SAME TIME, you’ll need to be familiar with time zones and daylight saving time.
The longitude and latitude utilized in the natal or birth chart are changed, but the time, or time zone, remains the same.
Your relocated chart has the same planetary aspects and patterns as your original chart, but the location has moved.
Your birth chart will still reflect the same moment in time as your birth, but in a different region of the world.
The astrological axis, rising and falling points, and the ic and mcthe will all alter in your chart.
If you move, does your birth chart change?
Your birth chart is a map of the sky at the precise time and location of your birth, indicating where all of the planets, the sun, moon, and other points of interest were in the sky at the moment of your birth. This same moment is captured for all of the planets in the relocated chart, but in a different city and consequently at a different time of day. If you were born in New York City at 12:00 p.m., it was 9:00 a.m. in Los Angeles, 6:00 p.m. in Paris, and so on. The map has been repositioned to account for the new city’s time zone and geographic coordinates. Don’t worry, your sun or moon sign won’t alter as a result of the relocated chart. It has no effect on the sign or degree of any of the planets in your horoscope. The rising sign (or ascendant degree) and, as a result, the rest of the angles, including the midheaven (or career point), the IC (or home point), and the DC (or relationship point), as well as the rest of the houses in your chart, are affected.
Here’s where you may make your own relocated chart. If you’re new to the technique, start with the new rising sign, which will provide you with a wealth of information. If you’re a Libra rising on the East Coast, for example, you’re most likely a Leo rising on the West Coast. You’re sweet and polite in one area and bold and elegant in another. From here, you can keep track of which planets become more prominent as time goes on, and you can go even more advanced by looking at how planets fall into different houses in each chart.
What are astrocartography lines and what do they mean?
Within 700 miles of each line, a heavenly body connects with it, bringing out particular attributes such as love, creativity, and progress. This is known as the orb of influence, according to Smith. Keep in mind that, depending on other parts of your horoscope, each planet has a dark or light potential energy. Here’s the crux of the energy each planet emits to give you an idea of what you’re looking for:

The quantity of symbolism in the areas I’ve been to has been one of the most amazing things I’ve discovered when studying my own astrogeography, which I consider as a sign that I’m ‘in the right place.’ If you go to one of your Moon Lines, keep an eye out for the following:
Adaptability, bakers and bakeries, baths and washhouses (laundrettes) and washerwomen, feelings, emotions, nostalgia, beaches, harbours, mothers, nests, pregnancy, pearls, poultry, pubs, hotels and restaurants, kitchens, sympathy, the subconscious, showers, silversmiths, swimming and water, boating, Tears, Tortoises and Turtles
