In astrology, Ceres is the planet that governs nutrition, agriculture, transitions in a woman’s life, nurturing, motherhood, and kinship.
Ceres has a passion for things that are easy, pure, healthy, and natural. Ceres has a great desire to protect, nurture, and treat all other living things, including animals, with reverence and respect.
Ceres is associated with grief and the potential to ruin everything in one’s path in an effort to recover what has been lost.
She may also be associated with separation and time-sharing because in mythology, Ceres had to make a bargain with Pluto to restore her daughter Persephone to him for a portion of the year after he had kidnapped her.
Ceres can describe our nurturing, loving, and caring characteristics. Strong correlations exist between mentoring, teaching, farming, gardening, and cooking. Ceres is democratic, kind, and concerned about health, nutrition, and the environment. With Ceres, we are drawn to things that are straightforward, pure, good, and natural.
Ceres prefers the mundane above the extraordinary and is often simple and sparsely ornamented.
Ceres in the Natal Chart
Our Ceres sign might reveal how we take care of others. People with Ceres in an Earth sign, for instance, might nourish others by providing them with food, sustenance, and practical assistance. On the other hand, for those with Ceres in a Water sign, providing emotional support comes first when it comes to nurturing others. If Ceres is in the Air or Fire signs, they may naturally turn to mental and communicative help, respectively, and moral and encouraging support.
A person with a strong Ceres in the chart may exhibit traits of Ceres prominently (such as through a conjunction to the Sun, Moon, or Ascendant). Love for the commonplace, unexceptional, uncomplicated, organic, and plain can play a significant role.
What does your birth chart’s Ceres signify?
The Earth Mother is the most complete description of Ceres. She is a universal nourishment that pervades all we touch and is touched by, ruling over health, nutrition, agriculture, and everything else. She also represents motherhood, the ferocious energy that family ties are infused with, fertility, the changes a woman goes through as she moves through different periods of life, and the transformations she undergoes. Ceres explains what we require in this life in order to feel nurtured, as well as how we may nurture those around us.
You are aware of the intensity, beauty, and darkness of a mother’s love. The sharpest and most durable knife couldn’t make a scratch on it due to its extreme strength. The depth of love that resides within each of us is represented by Ceres. It’s kind of incredible to imagine that Ceres is putting fire into every act of love we do, isn’t it?
Simply use the Ceres-associated astrological sign in your birth chart to guide how that unbreakable love manifests in your reality. For instance, if it’s a Gemini, perhaps your love extends through discussions, creative endeavors, and encouraging independence and freedom in your loved ones. If it’s a Taurus, your love may manifest as a solid foundation of stability and a fiery and unwavering dedication.
What is my Ceres, the asteroid?
The only dwarf planet in the inner solar system is Ceres, which is also the largest asteroid belt object between Mars and Jupiter. In 1801 when Giuseppe Piazzi initially noticed it, it was the first asteroid belt object to be found. And Ceres became the first dwarf planet to host a probe when NASA’s Dawn arrived there in 2015.
Ceres, which had previously been referred to as an asteroid, is so much bigger and more distinct from its rocky neighbors that in 2006, scientists classed it as a dwarf planet. Ceres makes up 25% of the mass of the entire asteroid belt, although Pluto is still 14 times more massive.
The Roman goddess of corn and harvests is honored by the name Ceres. The name is also the origin of the word cereal.
What does the first house having Ceres mean?

My perspective of Ceres
The first asteroid, Ceres, was found in 1801. It is the only one in the asteroid belt with enough gravity to be circular, being the largest object there. Ceres was classed as a dwarf planet in 2006 by astronomers. It is currently the sole dwarf planet within Neptune’s orbit and the only one in the asteroid belt. The match against Ceres will take place on November 27, 2021. It will rise at dusk and set at dawn at that time when the sun is opposite it in our sky.
Because it is brightest and closest to us during opposition, those days are the greatest periods to observe it.

The Dawn spacecraft at Ceres
About one-fourth the size of our moon, Ceres is about 600 miles (1,000 km) broad. Ceres was chosen as a subject for investigation by the Dawn mission due to its size, which lies midway between an asteroid and a planet.
2015 saw Dawn’s arrival to Ceres. When the spacecraft started taking pictures of bright patches on Ceres’ surface as it got closer to the dwarf planet, it raised some eyebrows. The spots were compared to extraterrestrial headlights in jokes. But it turned out that these were salt deposits from the planet’s salty internal water. Ahuna Mons is a mountain that is 2.5 miles (4,000 meters) high that Dawn also discovered.
How to view Ceres at opposition
Now is the perfect time to start observing Ceres if you have a telescope or good binoculars. Keep in mind that asteroid literally means starlike. Ceres appears to be a star to us from Earth. However, due to its proximity to us, it is visible moving in front of the stars from one night to the next.
To see Ceres, grab your binoculars or telescope and go to a dark-sky location. Lower magnitude values indicate brighter objects when describing the brightness of celestial objects. You can view objects down to about magnitude 6 from a place free of light pollution. Early in November, when the moon is almost in its new phase, there are the darkest skies and the best chances to see this pale world. Early in November, Ceres is about magnitude 7.6, and by late November, it will be at its brightest (magnitude 7). So you can see that to obtain this rare thing, you’ll need optical assistance.
Throughout November, Ceres will pass in front of the constellation Taurus the Bull.
Ceres near Aldebaran
Ceres crossed the brilliant star Aldebaran earlier this month. Members of the EarthSky community took pictures during their meeting. The brightest star in Taurus is Aldebaran, and the minor planet has spent the whole month circling the constellation.
Through much of November, Ceres traveled through the Hyades Cluster, which has a V shape. View the forward- and backward-playing video below.
Why Ceres is so dim
At a greater distance from the sun than Earth, Ceres orbits it. It is 2.77 times further away from the sun than the Earth is on average. Ceres’ brightness is relatively constant throughout the year. It needs at least binoculars to be spotted because it is small, far, and dim, and even then, it merely appears as a point of light like a faraway star.
Ceres’ reflectivity does not work in our advantage. Albedo, a measurement of an object’s degree of blackness or whiteness, ranges from 0 to 1. Fresh snow or ice that is very reflective can have an albedo of 0.8 or 0.9. It is frequently claimed that Venus, our neighboring planet, appears brilliant to us because of how much sunlight is reflected by its dense cloud cover. The albedo of Venus is 0.65. On the other hand, low-albedo items are very black because they absorb the majority of sunlight. Fresh asphalt and charcoal both have an albedo of 0.04. The albedo of Ceres is 0.7. In the shadows and against the void of space, it is essentially hidden.
Asteroid belt, the region of solar system debris between Mars and Jupiter, is where Ceres is located, making it the brightest dwarf planet visible from Earth. Eris and Pluto both have one of the highest albedos in the solar system, at 0.86 and 0.30 respectively. Only roughly three times as far from the sun as Earth, Ceres. Pluto, in contrast, is located 40 times farther from the sun than Earth. Additionally, Eris is 68 times further away from the sun.
Conclusion: November 27 marks Ceres’ opposition, when it will be brightest and closest to Earth. This will make for excellent viewing.
Where is my south node, please?
You can find a glyph (an astrological symbol) that resembles a horseshoe in your natal chart. The North Node is represented by that symbol. An upside-down horseshoe serves as the symbol for the South Node. You can circle those symbols once you locate them in your chart. They will always show up in the same degrees, opposing houses, and opposite signs. You can now grasp the karma and energy you’re working with since you know where their homes are. The signs display the taste, while the dwellings portray the general mood and plot.
- First house north node and seventh house south node: Any karmic debts you may have will be made up in marriage or partnership, so good luck there! You may feel larger than life since your confidence is soaring. However, there’s a catch: You could not be giving relationships the attention they require.
- the second house’s north node and the eighth house’s south node Your downfall may come from sex. Just a thought. To prevent feeling abused and burned out, be aware of how much time you’re providing to others. At all times, prioritize your needs.
- Third house north node and ninth house south node: You have a lot of love for your team but not as much for spiritual matters. You can educate yourself and communicate effectively. Think about collaborating with others to encourage communication awareness, perhaps volunteer to tutor or enroll in an online writing course.

- North Node in 5th House and South Node in 11th House Humanitarian actions are used to pay off your karmic obligations. Take a look for a volunteer sign-up sheet and add your name. Be cautious in how you interact with your colleagues as well. Make sure you are the one in charge of leading the group and properly managing the time.
- Having a north node in the sixth house and a south node in the twelfth house You’re the very best at collaborating with coworkers. Bonus: Your health is excellent as well. Give oneself permission to have faith in things that cannot be rationally explained. Give yourself the opportunity to engage with your spirituality and to access that side of yourself.
- South Node in the first house and North Node in the seventh: You lack limits in relationships and dominate your partners. Hmm, perhaps it has to do with your relationship and self-confidence issues. Although it can be frightening, being in a healthy relationship is what you fervently desire. Before you ruin the connection, give the other person an opportunity to show you that you love them.
- South Node in the second house and North Node in the eighth house: Be careful not to overspend and refrain from taking advantage of your sexuality. You can better manage your finances and cash flow if you maintain a budget. And watch out for FOMO.
- South Node in the third house and the North Node in the ninth house: You feel the need to travel and pursue further education. And you probably have a publishing interest. This energy in your chart is giving you the assurance to take that journey around the world or publish that novel you’ve always wanted to. In order to fulfill your soul’s destiny, be daring.
- South Node in the fourth house and the North Node in the tenth house: Since you are happier at work than at home, it makes obvious that you have a strong need for a career. However, this does not negate your desire for a contented family life and house. On the other hand, you ache for that.
- South Node in the Fifth House and the North Node in the Eleventh House: You’re incredibly kind (especially to kids and your boo). Helping others inspires creativity and pleasure in you. Make an effort to get involved in your neighborhood and commit your time to assisting others in achieving excellence. Be more generous and less self-centered.
- South Node in the sixth house and North Node in the twelveth house: Your interactions with coworkers and other office personnel will help you pay off any karmic obligations you may have. Oh, and keep an eye out for any health problems or worries. Allowing yourself a few minutes each day to unwind will help you prevent experiencing both mental and emotional exhaustion.
What are Vesta, Juno, and Ceres?
Up until 1845, when new asteroids started to be discovered, only Ceres, Pallas, Juno, and Vesta (in order of discovery) were known asteroids. Astrologers began to recognize them in the 1970s.
Why is Ceres in Pisces significant?
One of the most delicate signs in the Zodiac, Pisces, is where Ceres is transiting. All of existence is connected to the Pisces energy. Due to the intensity of its emotions, wrath, resentment, and fury are difficult emotions to hold onto. We live in a world where strong emotions are present. where, despite having to deal with unpleasant circumstances and events, we are not required to bear the weight of the entire world.
One of the most crucial lessons to learn under these circumstances is forgiveness. This does not imply that we ignore issues or put things off until later. But it does imply that we extend ourselves the kindness and room we deserve.
Where are my north and south nodes located?
You must first run your birth chart through a free online astrology tool like Astro Seek or consult an astrologer in order to determine your north and south nodes. Your north node will thereafter be shown by a symbol resembling a pair of headphones. In reverse, your south node will have the same shape, which resembles a horseshoe.
