How To Read A Natal Chart With Transits

Astrology can be intimidating and muddled. The term “transitastrologers tend to use this term a lot because it is a highly important astrological term, and it is especially important in predictive astrology, so you may or may not be familiar with it.

The words “Jupiter moves into Scorpio” or “Venus switches signs and is now in Virgo” may not be recognizable to you, but they do refer to planetary transits.

You want to know how a transit will affect you most of all. What does Jupiter’s upcoming transit through Scorpio signify for you? What does Venus entering Virgo signify for you personally?

Let’s first define a transit to help you comprehend how planetary transits will impact you.

Astrology refers to the movements of the planets in relation to the Earth as “Transits.”

A transit occurs when the Sun moves across the sky and rises slightly to the east or west of where it did the day before. the Sun’s passage through.

A transit occurs when the moon is waxing or when it is a tiny sliver of a crescent moon when it is full and shining brightly in the night sky. Moon transits the Sun.

Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn all rise and set in various locations in the sky each day. These are transits as well.

The act or event of travelling across or through; a passage from one place to another is what the word “transit” is defined as.

A transit is only related to something, as we now know. You actually look at your natal chart in relation to the movement of the planets at a certain time when you want to know how a planetary transit will affect you.

The sky at the time of your birth and the sky at a specific time are constantly compared in a transit chart.

Suppose that you were born on January 1st, 1970. This is a static representation of your natal chart. A transit, however, can occur at any time. You can search for transits on any date, past or present, including June 5, 1998 and October 10, 2017.

To Read Your Transits, Follow This Process:

12th house. You say Jupiter is in your 12th house if it is outside the circle “Jupiter is presently moving through my 12th house.

Inside the circle, the planets remain constant. Your natal chart never changes. Though the planets outside the circle are constantly in flux.

This is how you read a transit. You look at the planets outside the circle and which houses they pass. In the example below, Jupiter will transit your 12th house.

7. Let’s take another example. In the same chart, you now want to check the Moon. You want to find out which house in your natal chart is transited by the Moon.

8. Now let’s take a different example, a little more difficult. Let’s say you read that the Solar Eclipse in Leo occurs at 28 Leo, and you want to find out which part of your chart will be affected.

In the example below, 28 Leo is in the 9th house. Although you don’t see the 28, you can see a small gridthe sign of Leo is split into 30 small lines, each one representing one zodiacal degree. Therefore, 28 Leo is where you count the 28th line inside the sign of Leo.

You now know that for someone born on January 1st 1970 at 5:32 AM in LA, California, Jupiter is going to transit their 12th house, so matters related to the 12th house will come into focus from October 10th, when Jupiter moves into Scorpio, until November 9th, 2018.

PS: Please keep in mind that there are different ways to calculate the houses (you may be more familiar with Placidus house system for example) (you may be more familiar with Placidus house system for example).

What does a transiting natal chart mean?

“The term “transits” in astrology refers to the planets’ present-day motion, as opposed to their locations at your birth or at other significant moments in your life. Transits reflect our shared reality, the world we are all living in together, because they are tied to the present. The way we play the cards we are dealt by the worldthe transitsis what transforms us and shapes the direction of our destiny.”

How is a transit to be read?

  • Track down the eyepiece. The crosshairs can be focused by turning this.
  • The leveling vial is located over the level’s range.
  • The focusing knob is located at the end of the scope.
  • The circular ruler marked with degrees that is used to read horizontal angles is known as the horizontal graduated circle.
  • Just above the horizontal graded circle is the horizontal tangent knob, which is used to make left- and right-hand adjustments.
  • On the near side of the scope, to the right, is a vertical tangent knob that can be turned to adjust up and down.
  • The knob that locks the vertical direction in place is just past.
  • Just below the horizontal graduated circle are the leveling screws. To maintain the object level, these can be modified.
  • A detachable sunshade is available on some levels to shield the lens from sunlight.

How does astrology determine your transit?

According to Tripp, you can search at an ephemeris, or a table documenting all of the planets’ movements in the following months and years, to learn about transits in advance. If so, you can simply hold off until your astrologer next discusses a significant transit in the future.

What transits are crucial?

Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto transits, which can span months or even years, are the most important transits for making future plans.

Transits of Jupiter and Saturn can also be highly significant, but as they only occur for a few weeks at a time, they are more helpful for planning (or avoiding) specific actions in the future.

Unless you’re looking for very specific timing of activity, like an open cart, it is more effective to look at which houses Venus, Mars, and Mercury are currently transiting over rather than the aspects they are making to the natal chart. Venus, Mars, and Mercury move quite quickly around our chart and only transit our natal planets for a few days.

However, if you tried to keep track of all of your Venus, Mars, and Mercury transits annually, you would go insane!

Finally, because the moon and sun move so quickly, it is not very useful to think about transits involving them because they only last for a few hours or days. However, it is useful to think about which area of our charts the moon and sun are bringing energy to each day, week, and month, and I teach students how to do this in my program Your Soulful Year.

I will individually examine the area of my horoscope that the sun is bringing life and energy to each month, as well as the area that each new and full moon activates.
